Just wondering if anyone would know of a company looking for an AZ driver?

My brother in law is now looking. He's not too computer savvy. Just thought I'd put the word out for him.

PM me if you have any info.

ThanX

Frank

There's all kinds of trucking company's looking for drivers around here, Erb's, Challenger, K-Dac...
These are in Kitchener/Cambridge. I know our company will be looking within the next 6 mths. but not at the moment.

Shag, thats just it "experienced" is the key word. I've been reading in my "Truck News" that us older guys are bailing out [I already did] & there no interest in the younger generation to do this !!!Who would want to,away from home wks at time, long hrs, lots of unpaid hrs, low pay, tons of responcibilty,Etc. It should be classed as a "SKILLED" position but the Gov. won't recognize as such, & like to see "Joe Blow" be able to get in a 18 wheeler with a 13 or 18 Fuller trans & see haw far they get ?? Co. don't want to train the younger drivers that do want to get started, & want experienced drivers & just having your A/Z doesn't make you a truck driver. I know when i was a trainer, some of the drivers that came in for refresher b-4 they had to re-new at 65 were just plain SCARY!!! Wish your brother in law luck, I hope he lands a position!! Pete

actually pete they are talking to extend the re-new period by 2-3 yrs due to the shortage of drivers. i was a bit of a trainer in the mid 70's at esso on finch ave. i was only mid 20's but i had won their truck rodeo so they put some new guys with me for a couple of days. only had a couple of guys as nobody ever quit. the rodeo wasn't really fair for the older guys as a big portion was single trailer and the older guys had been on the A trains or truck pups for years. i had only been on the A's for a year or so.

if he has some miles behind him he should be ok. there will be a lot of competition for the local haul driver jobs.
