many years ago I was doing brakes on my escort and a spring broke and drove needle nose pliers right into my cheek, man that hurt but healed good with no scar.

wasn't changing the brakes , but was welding (not stick)  hurt like a bugger

 That's why I don't wear rings. I caught my ring coming off a truck and almost took my finger off...
