Chris I was lucky enough to win top 10, Mothers award, best in my class and best Nostalgia drag car....but I was the only gasser in the show, still it was nice to hear all the compliments and see the look on faces that remember the old gassers. HRD
your car was most certainly impressive, one of the few cars at the show that really caught my eye. car shows tend to be an endless stream of polished billet mobiles with endless dollars spent on them, your car has soul.

Your car is definitely worthy! A sweet sweet ride - I hope you can bring it down to the ELTA Bash in August!

Good for you Donnie!! Well deserved!! All that aggravation and attention to detail finally paid off. I have had the pleasure of being all over that car, inside and out, it is flawless! Donnie's wife says "he is anal about the car", but I guess that is what it takes to bring home the serious hardware.
We were there with the 71 Mustang Convertible. We did well, picking up another Best in class for the second year in a row. (Last year we took the 69 GTO). For the most part I thought it was a fantastic show with a good mix of stuff to see,and very well run. We had a bit of a problem on move in day with someone already in our spot when we arrived, but it was fixed quickly and in a better spot I thought. However, I will not be competing there again next year. I will not go into details other that to say there was a very unfortunate incident at the Sunday awards ceremony that I feel was extremely unprofessional, and left myself and my customer feeling very uncomfortable.

Donnie, I had a chance to go over your car, and just loved all the detail and quality you put into it. Excellent build. I have to ask you, who did your chrome?
I've been to enough of the winter time, indoor car shows over the years. At this point I have lost all interest in attending another (that point was actually reached more than a few years ago). There are just way too many sweet rides to be seen (and heard) at cruises, summer shows, and racetracks that the need to attend an indoor event where the cars are roped off and you never see them moving/hear them running just isn't there for me any more.
Here's an example of how little I care about indoor shows, the wifes flight arrived at 9:15pm on Friday night and I couldn't be bothered to arrive a couple hours early and drive the two extra miles to attend Motion/Performance World/Whateveritscallednow.

I heard a bit about what happened, so hopefully someone will post exactly what happened. My understanding is that the person responsible is related to Mike holmes (correct me if I'm wrong) so it doesn't surprise me why he was suck a Dick !! Another typical Canadian venue !!

Roddguy The Plating House in Toronto did my chrome, and Heavy Metal Services in Barrie did the repairs and polishing on my stainless.
