Just to introduce myself. Live in Mississauga, retired about 21 years ago but still buy and sell vintage speed equipment. Raised in a car family of 6 boys and 3 girls. Father leased and operated 5 or 6 garages from White Rose, Cities Service, BP , Fina (2) to Gulf. Father was an avid restorer and hotrodder??? Go fiqure!!! I myself worked as a mechanic, foreman and teacher for American Motors (3yrs.), Holley Carb. (1 yr.) and Cdn. Tire (9 yrs.). In between I owned a couple of businesses dealing in fleet maintenance and vintage auto parts. I belong to a couple of other well known forums but was told of this forum by a close friend in Brucefield, Ontario. Hopefully I can contribute some knowledge and a couple of parts to my fellow Canucks. Presently own a couple of 60's cars and a later musclecar. Thanks for having me and "Hi" Ed. Dave
Worked there in 79,80 and 81 in the training branch as a company mechanic doing PDI for executive staff and newspaper. Rode a Triumph Bonneville Chopper but never really knew any of assembly guys. 1400 employees and 3 shifts. Was good times and excellent pay. Picked the name " Boots " as my usual was taken. Daave

Memory not what it used to be so I really don't know unless he had a particular car or a unique talent. I have a couple of brothers in Milton, one who has a Falcon Ranchero and my dad's 39 Lincoln Zephyr which has a Horton tubbed frame and is still unfinished. Maybe you know him???
Mr. Pickett was the president when I was there. Course, maybe before or after!!! Company was part owned by Renault when I was there and we used VW engines in Spirits and then GM 4 cyl. Iron Dukes and of course Ford 3 speed trans. Like they used to say "All Makes Corporation". But they employed lots of Canadians and built not too bad of an economy car.
Welcome from Vineland Dave. First car I drove legal on the road was a 1964 Rambler Classic. Wish I had it today.....or a Pacer(I know, I know but they handled awesome) ....or an early AMX.....Marlin......'59 or '60 wagon.....
My all time favourite was the Rambler Scrambler or The Machine. Seen them run at Cayuga & Deseronto in the day. Hurst also got involved and then there was the AMX. Those were the days......sigh......
