Well, finally! There are 1000 photos from Detroit currently being up loaded to the "Mother Site". I'm starting with the basement and it takes quite a bit of time, so bare with me as I will be loading these up all evening. As they appear on the "Mother Site" I'll select a few choice ones and a link to see the rest (I'd be here a week or two showing all 1000 on this thread!!!!!)

Keep an eye out for my new found "Ariel shots" - a totally new perspective that I was experimenting with.

Looking good Steve. I see you caught Mike Lowden, Linda and Karl Chase in the ELTA group. Karl was the first owner in Michigan of my roadster.
Do like those ariel shots.

Here are a few ariel shots from my home made "Camera on a Stick". It worked flawlessly on it's maiden assignment - I finished it the day before the show and with out much practice, I was just wingin' it.

A few folks seemed quite interested in the "Rusted Crow" Sedan. I thought it was pretty cool too and took quite a few shots:

Thanks guys! It's truly one of my favorite passtimes!!!

I'm packing it in for tonight, I might get a chance during the day tomorrow to upload the other 650 from upstairs - if not it will be later in the evening. Stay tuned!

Whew! Just barely to the right of centre!!! Actually, I think my left arm is kinda ugly.

This is a rare shot of Chris WITHOUT a beer! Rochie is doing a poor job of hiding his. All in all, a great bunch of Rodders - I'm proud as punch that everyone had a blast without getting in too much trouble - Well... there was one "Chick Magot"!winkwink Lol!!!biggrin

Fordy those are awesome pics! What camera, lens, setting are you using? Some of those pics, almost look 3D.

Thanks Gazoo!

The aerial shots were taken with a tiny Nikon point and shoot S3500 which has a very good 20.1 megapixal processor. It's a super nice basic camera that is small and light enough for me to mount on my rig and trigger remotely. I bought it a few months ago for $101 taxes in - a great bargain for anyone looking for a compact point and shoot.

Most of the other shots at eye level were taken with my new Nikon 3200 DSLR, which has a powerful 24.4 megapixel processor. It has lots of options for manual adjustments to suit the shooting conditions - although it does a nice job of adapting to different lighting in auto mode too.

The Lens is a wide angle zoom with a range of 18mm to 55mm which is pretty good but doesn't pull light in as fast as I'd like. I'll be looking for a new lens that's a little wider to get me a little closer to the subject, like my older  Olympus E-500 does. It took a little getting used to taking a step back to get the entire car in the shot last weekend. Ideally, a 9mm to 15mm is perfect for car show pics where other cars are close and people walking in front - the closer you are to the subject, the better chance they will see you and stop before entering the frame.

Now doing an actual photo shoot where you can pose the car and control the environment, you can manipulate the lighting to suit your needs and you'll  want to use at least a 50mm lens to cut down on the distortion that a wide angle creates.

Glad you liked the shots!

Fordy, thanks for the reply, I've got two Canon cameras, one is a PowerShot with a 50X optical zoom lens, it's a nice point and shoot camera, with a Carl Zeiss lens, but the camera itself is only rated at 12.1megapixels.

The other is a Canon DSLR rated at 18megapixels with three different lenses, I really can't notice the image clarity difference between both cameras. I'm thinking because the DSLR's lenses are poly-carbon of some sort for weight, and I loose the clarity.

But I'm still experimenting with it.

Gazoo, I'm still learning my own self - best way to learn is to do! I mess around with some editing software too and I can manipulate a poor photo into looking pretty decent most times, some are so bad they can't be helped.

Why don't you PM me a picture you're not happy with and I'll try to direct you on a few camera settings to get you the results you desire. Maybe I can fix your broken picture through editing as well!

I don't have any bad pics, I delete them all. Most of my pics are outdoor shots, so lighting is generally not an issue.
The indoor shots is where I struggle, I don't use any photo editing also.
I'll have a look and see if I can find something though, just so I can keep you occupied, and away from winter mechanical breakdowns.biggrin

I've tried several different ways during several different days to put active links on this thread with no luck. I managed fine on the upstairs thread thanks to a little coaching from Hemi, but no go on this one. This will be my final attempt before I force myself to bother Poncho.
