My question is why am I denied ODSP because I am sick when welfare get free dental eye and prescriptions and not sick???

its the age old scare tactic the government uses to justify more cuts and belt tightening, meanwhile welfare is never in danger of running out of money. the government sees pensioners as the enemy for some reason. meanwhile we paid into it all our lives and the feds pissed the money away and now have to explain it. then you have freeloaders both coming here for the free ride and people who live here who have no intention of working or pulling thier own weight howling when welfare rates might get cut. i believe they are NDPers.

Odsp is provincial. Cpp disability is federal. The Feds don't care my wife works and doesn't care about her income. The province does and accounts her income.

Here's the kicker: Pension money isn't even funded by the Gov! You and I pay into it along with funds matched by our employers!!!! The only thing that the Canadian Pension Plan has to do with Canada is, that's where we decide to live. It's NOT Government funds - rip off!!!!

Ghost, if you are unemployable due to sickness you are eligable for ODSP.
Don't give up on this, somewere this can be corrected. Heard about others who went through this bullSh*t before who were denied, incorrectly.
Don't know your'e situation, but the bean counters at the office application level have been wrong before.
Apparently lots depends on your'e doctors evaluation.
If you are eligible you should be APPROVED!

Its the living arrangements and how they want to twist the rules . You could be legally married ( separated hopefully )
and if someone on odsp would move in with you the ontario government would consider you married even though you already are. But its perfectly legal to buy that person a house and call it a gift . The whole system is so screwed that it would haveto be scraped to fix. That would mean that one of the hogs at the trough would have to stick there head up and say they had enough . Likely only to get it cut off .

I fought and fought and fought. They do not care. Odsp turned me down. But said if my wife loses her job then they will re evaluate things.
And yes I am sick. It's not based on what I have or that I am sick. It's soley based on my wife's income for Odsp. Sad but true. Nothing I can do about it. I'm sol.
The disease I have or numerous surgeries means absolutely jack squat to Odsp.
But hey if I am on welfare and healthy. No problem!!
i am glad we have welfare. There are some that need it. A small few. I don't think anyone should go to bed homeless or hungry. But what angers me is that healthy people auptmatically get it but I don't and I am sick and do not. That is wrong.
Actually, they populated our west(BC is not the west, it is the socialwest) when no English or Frenchman wanted to do so. They built the bread basket of the world. They lived in sod huts so that one day Canada became one of the greatest resource countries in the world.
Like said, many settlers from the Ukraine and other European countries did a whole lot for Canada.....Helping out the Ukrainians in a good idea in my mind.....Why we were in Afghanistan is a whole other story
Agree on the settlement of the west, lots of Ukrainians emmigrated there , there is a big monument there i think in Saskatchewan honouring those people.
