Ok folks, how cool is THIS!!!

sheild.jpg

This was made for me by Dan (Hemi43) as a gift towards my hot rod, and to add some Scottish heritage to the project.

Is it not just the coolest thing you've ever seen????

So, now I need to decide where to mount it. Suggestions on a postcard. I did think about embedding it into the drivers door

Thanks Dan, I owe you one....or two....or three, lol.

Wow, what a great gesture! Super cool workmanship there Dan!

Top and center on the cowl - where the gas cap was, or center it under the rear window,  but make a recessed panel for it to sit in so it ends up sitting flush.

No, but it doesn't bother me, cuz you can't hurt my dirty rotten feelings. What I tell most Dutchmen is, that they should have brought twice as many, half as far.

I got to admit, I was a little hesitant to open this thread, Bling for my "Thing". I wasn't sure what to expect, LOL, then I realized it wasn't in the "Off Topic" section.
That is a sharp looking medallion. Couldn't be more personalized.

I tried to get a 4th class Engineer to approve it, but was told by the TSSA that his credentials weren't good enough, so I had the sweeper sign it off. winkwink

In one of those sober moments between workman comp claims, Dan cranked out a couple of these for me also. Despite what some on the site say, very talented, A1 Guy.IMG_0099.JPG

I machined it on a CNC mill I retrofitted/restored a few years ago. I  now runs on a PC. I don't use it that often , so that's why I try and use it once in a while so I don't get too rusty with it.

Here's a before and after picture.

Homemade CNC plasma cutter ???????? WTF ???????

I wouldn't have a clue how to even operate one let alone BUILD one.

Something seems slightly familiar about you. Did you used to live beside that guy with the grey car, it was a four door. You know, north and a little east of the big four-way stop. Good guy, had a wife and a kid (or two). He worked at that place beside the plaza. The wife worked at the restaurant near the car dealership. Well, I am related to his wife's brother in law. I think that may make me YOUR third cousin in law, six times removed (or something close to that). That's great meeting up with you ...... when can I drop my projects off at your place for completion old buddy, ole pal, ole third cousin in law, six times removed ?  winkbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Obviously just kidding here but WOW, what a set of tools to have around the house ...... DAYUM ...

 Yeah, wrong Guy !! biggrinbiggrin

I never had a chance to learn CNC or CAD at my place of work, but was always fascinated by the technology. I figured the only way to learn was to build one. That was 4 years ago, and by just searching and reading stuff on the net, both can be learned quite easily. It's like anything I guess.
