I,m either way on the kits . I don,t think I,d ever put one on one of my cars . I,m not a cruiser slash low rider guy .
my personal reason for dis liking them , my buddy,s dad had one on a glass top 50,s ford , and said to me hey could you grab some thing for me outta the trunk , trunk was all ready open , ya shure , walk around back of car , BANG ...OWWWWW Mommy ....
not even thinking like ya gotta lay those things down to get the trunk open , walked right into it , every time I see one I feel like kicking it ha ha ..77.

not all tip down different designs mine tips off to side.there is no problem with banging your shins, knees etc.as someone  mentioned trying to get spare tire out in case of flat.the spare still is carried in usual spot one in kit gives you benefit of second if needed.in pre radial days this would have come in handy.while most are for show those that remember the the days when flats were a common problem everyone had to deal with.mine is for looks today but would in the day it would also form a function.

If I recall, Cat in The Hat once told me he chipped a tooth on one of those.

I seem to recall in mounting instructions a note about removing dentures before operating.I did not understand why now makes sense now I will have to have sign made.words to the effect vertically challenged use extreme caution when approaching.I also need to contact insurance agent and add a rider for denture damage.more things to add to to do list it never ends
