spoke to a buddy of mine who has a truck garage in town, the inspection part of this new bs has already begun, they are hitting all the shops with inspections, seems the college of trades is now in charge of the garage licensing now, not the ministry of transportation.  it doesnt look good.

I don't have a glass car but I sure disagree with you. Years ago I built a glass deuce roadster on an original deuce chassis and titled it as a 32 Ford and I believe that's what it should have been titled as. Think of it this way: if you took a brand new vehicle, say a 2014 F 150 truck and stared putting fiberglass replacement parts on it one at a time, like a fender then a new box, then another fender and then doors etc. until it was completely changed to fiberglass but still looked like an F 150. would you title it as something else?

Sounds to me that if I owned a rat rod

Or fibreglass car without proper firewall

tags and matching ownership I would be

starting to worry.I have been saying for a few

years now that the mto would start cracking

down on fibreglass cars as they are out and out

fraudulent, and that if I owned a glass car I

Would be moving it along as fast as I could

but that is just my opinion, but I sure am glad

that all my cars have original frames and matching

firewall tags and ownerships .

I am baffled by your logic.

It is only fraud if you misrepresent what you have.

If you go through the process PROPERLY and not through fraud using "Historical Documents" you are fine.

Just because some folks abuse the system, does not mean all of us are screwed.

The PCs are saying they'll get rid of this college of trades. I wish the NDP had enough balls to force an election. Anyone would be better than the crooks we've had for the last few years. I'm pretty sure Kathleen Wynne is Orville Redenbocker in drag but I know she, like McQuity before her want to stick us with as much tax as possible to try to recover some of the millions they've cost the people of this province the last few years. Looks like we'll probably end up with Maggie's kid in Ottawa too. I'm wondering if I could move to OZ or just about anywhere but here. I've said before that I'm not much of a fan of Rat Rods and I worried since the get go that the government will see some of these contraptions and put all Hot Rods in the same basket. It'll likely put an end to this hobby completely.

How about an (early) 1928 AR, with a serial number stamped into the fire wall and into the frame as per. THE JUDGE, POLICE, AND MOT. car registered in 1978, bought piece by piece from swap meets.
From what I have read so far I am still unable to find a clear defined point to argue Bill 173 with my MPP.

drive safe

SO did you go to the mto office and tell them you bought a frame from ?

and also bought a glass body from?

and bought an ownership from a flea market

Try it soon and let me know how it works out for you!!!!

Any time you use "historical documents" on a car they were not issued to sounds like fraud in my books

The way I see it a early ford should be titled by the frame thats where they stamped the identification number . no number was stamped on the body. seeing there was no set rules it should go by individual manufacturer and how and where they put the serial number. as long as the ownership serial and the ORIGINAL manufacturer's serial match thats what it is.

As "letsgo" has pointed out, some early Fords actually did have the serial number stamped into the firewall.  I know this to be fact as I have seen a '28 or '29 Model A (original car) with a factory stamping on the firewall.  Not a firewall tag but truly stamped right into the firewall itself.

to me, the entire thing is another gov't phony make work scheme. issuing patronage plums under the guise of safety. anyone who has dealt with the electrical safety authority will recognize this immediately.

I have to wonder how qualified these safety inspectors will be. If they appoint burocrats to do these inspections,we are in deep dodo. I don't think any mods of any kind would be passed. Just another Liberal money grab . They think that by legislating all old cars off the road, we will all have to rush out and buy a new one. Keeps the economy going. Mark my words ,the writings on the wall!
