It actually does work. Been doing this for years, which may explain my rapid hair loss.

My niece had a Ford that the FOB would only work up to two meters from the car any further and dead.
I would steal the fob from her and put it under my chin and open mouth, and set the panic button off from a distance. She would have to run up to the car to shut it off.
She never figured out how I got the fob to work from a distance.
