guys i am thinking on a newer car for me. the last 2 have been caddies, sts and present escalade, and i get them about 1 to 2 yrs old. the /02 sts was a good car but the /07 esc is turning into a pc of crap rapidly. i am thinking on trying a navigator this go round, /12-/13. whats the pro's and con's of this thinking guys.

I would suggest checking with JD Power and Consumer Reports to try to get a fair appraisal . I left Ford 3 years ago but up until that time , Navigators had some annoying issues . See where they stand now . Also , ask present owners what they think if you see one around . Googling can be helpful but you have to weed out the chronic complainers if you can . I did all of the above when I bought my Olds Aurora and I had no surprises .

Second Chuck on the Acura, if you don't mind premium gas and a foreign car built in Canada.

I have an 09 MDX and really like it. Has 5000 lb tow capacity, it replaced an aging GMC 1500.
So far just regular maintenance.

         Check the Internet  Lots of reports and complaints on every model  including  Lexus and Acura....

         Ask the service manager at a Lincoln dealer (don't ask sales lol}

        Did you want to peddle the Esc for a few grand ?

Shirley.... your wrong on the Acura-MDX..no problems with them they are built in Cooksville/cookstown ?? ..I have drivin Acuras for years and service a few..I can never find any work to do on them ..Brakes, and had the rad fail right at the connections for the trans cooler..never had any other issue..It's those other ones we make our living from ..I have driven Acura MDX for 10 years..great SUV built in Canada..Every time I get in a GM or Dodge or Ford exploder..I am so glad to get back in My MDX..I just hate the priemium fuel ..but I mostly use mid grade just lose a we bit on milage ..I love my MDX..very trustworthy..reliable and trouble free..I use Amsoil & change the oil and filter once a year..can never find anything to fix on it ..frustrating

The only Lincoln I like/trust, is my mig welder.biggrin

I'm with Chuk on this one, the MDX is what I'd personally go for.

 you are probably right on the trouble free but i tow my boat, 24ft big block i/o, and if i stumble into a car or truck somewhere i rent a u-haul and bring it home. i haven't seen any of them models i would be comfortable doing that with.

i give them to the family usually. sis in london got the sts and now she is asking about the esc.

As for annoying issues , I wasn't crazy about the fit and finish on a lot of them and there were electronic problems/complaints regarding power lift gate and power running boards . I don't know how widespread that was but I encountered that with a number of customers .

FoMoCo and Lincoln division only assign a handful of dealers the Lincoln franchise atleast in Canada .....there were about 10 Ford dealers in our area and 2 had Lincoln .
