I am involved in the Yorkville Exotic Car Show which is held each year on Father's Day. We close Bloor Street between Bay and University, and limit the cars to about 120 vehicles. We have full support from the Business Improvement Association and the merchants in the area. There is no admission fee but proceeds from sponsorships go to support Prostate Cancer Canada. Attendance last year approached 80,000 people.
We have no contacts in the Rodder Community but would be very interested in having a corral of approximately ten representative rods ( the wilder the better!). Other corrals will include among others Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette and a selection of exotics. This will be our fifth annual show.
You can see some information and photos from the previous shows below:
I've been to this show several times (as a spectator). No idea where they park the rigs, but there were definitely some trailered cars at this event in the past. Not that it matters but I think the trailered cars were 1920's/1930's antiques although most of the show is comprised of exotics.
Like Arnold said, "I'll be back".
Unfortunately, I don't have a rod worth displaying or I would absolutely be signing up.
Ain't nothing more fun than opening a beer with your armpit (easily accessed due to the "wife beater" casual wear) while hanging with the Cristal and Caviar crowd
(just kidding, it really is a great show) .
This is a great opportunity for those of you with show quality rides.
It is very difficult to get trailer space given the limited footprint we have and also the fire dept regulations. Saw a Star article one time that showed some amazing rods on Queen Street one evening and thought that if possible cars like that would be amazing. Its not very snobbish though..all sort of people come and bring their kids on Father's day...generally good humoured people.
