I know my '62 GMC is more stock than hot rod but it's nice to join an Ontario board and chat with local classic owners. There are some really amazing rides posted here, hope you don't mind a few of my rig?
My Dad worked as an internal auditor with the British American Oil Co. back in the mid '50s through the late '60s when it was bought out by Gulf. He went on to work another 30 some years at Gulf. I bought this Oshawa built truck about 8 years ago this month and finished up a 7 yr. restoration late last summer. Did all the work myself including body & paint. When time came to choose a paint scheme for the truck which was originally "Woodland green" I decided to go with the B/A colours and make it a tribute to my Dad & a once great Canadian Oil Company, sort of my idea of what a B/A service station shop truck might have looked like in the early '60s. My Dad gave me the nickname "Murphy" as a kid so I made up the "Murphy's B/A Service" logos for the doors. It's mostly stock but does have a few custom touches including the '60-'61 style GMC hood, & custom made 283 V8 hood badges in place of the American V6 badges. Oh, it also started life as a Chevy C-10, but I'm more of a GMC style guy so the grille & tailgate changeover was an easy switch. Still has it's original 283 under the hood, I did replace the 3 on the tree with a 700R automatic however & added power brakes & recently added power steering, boy that upgrade makes for much easier parking in tight spots! My wife and I call it "Ol' Murph" since it's a couple years older than I am!
Thanks.

Afraid not, I did work at a Petro Can station (which used to be a B/A & Gulf station) in Niagara-on-the-Lake years ago. Used to live in Niagara, been living in Tottenham for about 12 yrs. now.
recently started collecting BA stuff, ran across your truck awhile ago googling BA
Thanks 2drpost, wish my Dad had kept all the B/A & Gulf stuff he had when I was a kid, but like many things you never think they would ever become collectable! There is a B/A petroleum photo group on Flicker with some cool photos of Vintage B/A items etc. Ebay is still a good source for finding items as well. https://www.flickr.com/groups/1959621@N21/
Welcome Old Murph..Great looking truck..you can tell by looking at the workmanship that has a labour of love..now drive the hell out it and enjoy it before you have to give it to Wynne..
