anyone ever use a set of "off the shelf" fenderwell headers ? i'm wondering about chevy II pieces or maybe tri-five chevy would work. plenty of room in the car, no inner fenders and the engine is mounted with front and rear plates. mustang II front end. don't really have the time to spend with a kit.

i think it should have adequate room jonny, it's a round tube chassis. tomorrow i'll post up some pictures and maybe get some measurements.

Speedway has most of the header dimensions in their listings. Some detailed, others not so much.

Over In Keene Bill Vilneff At Vilneff Auto just built a set of fenderwells for his VW gasser (SBC) Might be worth a visit and a look. Not far from you I think.  Like me he used EMT . Very inexpensive, nice bends and easy to weld and available in all the good sizeskeengasser1.jpg.

Mike at Lightspeed would blow you a set of flanges if he doesn't have them made up already.

I used a set of Hooker fenderwell headers on my 55 chev, they worked great.
By looking at your pictures I would bet they would fit your car.

okay, i have some shorty headers arriving this week. i will lengthen the collectors on them and use them until i investigate the fenderwells further. also have a nice firewall mounted throttle pedal as well so i can get rid of that nasty, cheap, floor mounted mr. gasket unit.

This is a picture of my fenderwells

They are Chevy 2's in a Merc Comet...fit like a glove

The only issue I see that could use some rework is the steering or the Master

those are considerably different than my Chevy Twice headers for layout, and what I have may work better for some as there doesn't seem to be the steering interference issues as much by the look of it

one can see my headers in the engine bay thread

unfortunately neither the chevy 2 headers nor the tri fives will work. i have found some hedman husler s10 fenderwells that look promising. i'd like to see if i can find some dimensions however before ordering them. i think right now the shorty's with an extended collector will work okay, anything will be a vast improvement over what's on there now.

I used Speedway trifive fenderwell headers on my 39. No mods to the headers.Just have to repaint every 2nd yr.Your steering shaft may be a problem.

the hedman s10 fenderwells look like they will clear the steering shaft and the master cylinder but i need to get some dimensions to be sure. the shorty's have arrived and i'll extend the collectors and run them this season. when the 406 goes in the car i'll definitely have to come up with a good set.

I've been searching for a set of fender well headers for my 67c10. I have a buddy with them on his s10. If he ever removes them for any reason I'm gonna test fit them on my truck. I have no inner wheel wells. They are to exspensive for me to order a set to find out they don't fit. If anyone has any used ones laying around I may be interested. I am currently running crappy flowtech shorty headers due to ground clearance issues.

these are the headers i was looking at for the stude. like you, i don't want to lay out the bucks until i can at least get some dimensions on them. of any of the umpteen pair i've looked at they seem to be the most promising - so far.
