at tafts today I found a truck like my Tahoe with an aftermarket throttle body spacer, these sell for about 100 bucks or more depending on the make.  I think I paid 5 bucks for it and all the stuff that went with it, its made by trans-dapt.  do these things make any difference?  the manufacturers claim they do

They don't do anything, might reduce heat a bit.

Side note did you happen to see any fox body stangs at tafts?

I heard all they do is reduce the thickness of your wallet.

It depends on what year your Hoe is. If its a 87-1995 with teh TBI 305/350 then yes, these t-body spacers do help wil part throttle torque. Bujt if your Hoe is a 1996-2000 unbit that uses the Vortec 350 (RPO L31) then, yes, all they do is lighten your wallet.
