Lots of hotels near by. We going weather permitting. if it rains prior we go as spectators. If dry all week we show. Not worth hassle cleaning it. Depending on where you park it can get muddy.
Should be a great show as usual.

Dan, best place to camp is at Fanshawe Lake campgrounds. It's on the east side of town but it's a straight shot down Oxford St to Plunkett's. PM me and I'll give you the best way to get there. If you're coming in on Friday why not drop by ELTA for a refreshment or two.

I'm actually hoping to miss this one this year- it's the Power Tour at this point, but things can change.

If  I do end up staying in Canada, Dan, I'll offer up Jonny and Carol's old spot here on the Car Farm

Looks like awesome weather for the upcoming weekend. Will be staying (camping) right at the show which is a bonus, and hope to visit the ELTA if anyone will be there on Friday. Spoke to Steve last week and he said there will be lots of vendors this year, and he expects a huge turnout.

I'm planning on coming down, not sure if I'll be down with the wagon or will be a spectator. My son and I may come down friday night and if time permits could be persuaded to swing by the ELTA shop if anyone will be there.

Hey brothers.......definitely we'll have the ELTA shop doors open for some of our Ontario Rodder brothers........ we'll stock up the old 1959 Westinghouse fridge with a few amber refreshments and the usual pop and water. So just drop me or Wayner (Rochie) a line on when you all might be swinging by for the meet and greet.

Safe travels.

We need to get to Plunkett's before 3:00, so by the time we get setup and have a beer it may be 5:00 or so before we roll in. May do supper before though. I'll bring that 1/4 glass with me.smile

Drove the 401 to the airport today at 11:00, bloody disaster, especially in the west end. Took the 407 home, was worth every penny.

I just refuse to pay $30 ransom to by-pass that crap hole, and the worst part is that the money goes to Spain. That highway is just so wrong on so many levels.

I really try to pick my times to go through T.O. carefully, usually in the middle of the night for best results.

Has anyone tried going across the top using #7? I'd be interested to know if the extra miles might pay off with less time, less panic stops and more pleasant scenery.

I run the 407 whenever I have to cross over T.O, Brock road in Pickering to east of Hamilton on the 403-1 hour or Mississauga road and the 401 is 40 minutes. Just set the cruise and go, no white knuckle driving.

I could see charging $10 to use it , but $30 is absolute gouging, especially when you compare toll roads in the US. It costs $14 to drive 6 hours from Buffalo to New York City.

I'm with you Dan and yeah, I wish it WAS only $10 to use the 407 - that way more people would use it, thus freeing up the 401 for me!

I just picture some Guy that lives in Pickering but works West of the city making around 15/hour. How the hell could he even afford to use that road when it would cost him $60 per day. It just doesn't make sense !

Yep, the 407 should have been a great money maker for OUR government, but nooooo....the morons sold it to some cat in Spain. But truly, when you're faced with travelling in and around the big city all too often, the easier drive outweighs the cost most times. Any time I've opted to stay on the 401 I end up sucking exhaust fumes for more time than needed, wishing I stayed my usual run over the 407.

If it was cheaper, it would be just a jammed as the 401. Sad but true.

There's a toll road in Nova Scotia too...total cost $4.25 if I recall correctly. The new Montreal by-pass, opened last year was a whopping buck and a half total!

Regardless Hemi, grin and bear it buddy, and enjoy all the thumbs-up you'll get. We'll be glad to see you on this side of the Big Armpit. See you Friday evening.

Boy I am not sure I will get to the Fleetwood cruise on Sat ..I am right in the middle of a bathroom reno and as usual it turns out to be so much more than first thought..It has been 20 some years since I first done that..I found some places where the trap had signs of a leak and some rotted wood that needed replacing and of course the new senior shower -tub is just a little different in dimension so it needs a little framing, new plumbing, and drain ..I started yesterday and hoped to be up and running by Thursday but ....keeping my fingers crossed but this is a old stone farmhouse that built back in 1850 and everything about it has been a money pit..but I am too old to move..may as well just stay here till the good lord is finished with me..If I don't have that shower up and running by Thursday or Friday I am sure my wife will kill me..she is not real happy about having a shower in the back yard with the hose..Boy women are weird..no sense of humor..I am sure gonna try to get to the clubhouse for a Friday night hug with the strangers from the Eastern part of Ontario..Yep I think I can take some time for that..

I dream of Kathleen at night ... I am terrified of those horse teeth, she could scrape the paint off my trunk lid..biggrin biggrin But the club rules are pretty specific..If you look in the constitution on page 267..chapter  2265 article B44Kellog/versus Hartman sec2-32 ford it's right there absolutely forbidden to discuss politics in the club house..No bashing any brothers.. no attitudes.. Anybody that violates those rules will brought out side immediately by the sargent at Arms..and with a show of hands will dragged up and down the street while the onther members stand on each side of the offending party and beat him or her with old fan-belts and used Micky Thompson slicks....Then his torso is hung at the front gate to The Fleetwood country cruise..just incase anybody else should forget the rules of engagement when in the clubhouse ..You must show respect and tolerance .....and tip Mark as the matre'd...smile confuse biggrin
