The truck is now in Canada. At the border he (my friend) was able to cross over at Windsor on Sunday at around 6:30 pm so no Mon-Fri business hour only crossing anymore it seems. They did however on the Canada side not believe he only paid $800 USD for it. They took and went through his phone and looked at texts and US phone numbers. The vehicle was purchased from a very good friend that lives in Tennessee and he had sent my friend a text that said..." I have written up a bill of sale for $800" and Canada Customs was certain this was an admission that he paid more and had a bill for a lower amount with a "We got you now" attitude and "What's the real story because we know you are lying". In the end he was able to pass into Canada for the taxes on the $800.
If anyone knows of parts around for a 51 International please let us know via PM.
Here are a few quick picks and I will do a build thread for it in the near future. The plan is to get it running, make it safe and change as little as possible....for now

I know of someone who tried to bring a vintage car across the border a couple of years back. He had a bill for X amount and the guys at the border didn't believe him. They threatened to contact the person he bought it from, the bank of the person he bought it from, his own bank to see how much he took out before the trip etc etc. He finally broke down and admitted to the actual price (which was a total steal to begin with), paid the tax and was on his merry way. I haven't heard if he has attempted to bring another car across since then or not but I'm pretty sure he should expect to be hassled BIG TIME in the future.
Thats why I suggested on the original posting he get the bill of sale notorized, not the first person to be questioned on the sale price. Good looking truck for the price
A guy in Mt.Brydges is putting a updated drivetrain and suspension in one of those. He had a bunch of parts forsale last year.I can find out what he has left if you want...

That is a cool old truck. 800 is a freaking steal.
So, tell me how the hood hinges work? it looks to me that if two guys grabbed the handles on either side and turned they could take the hood off?
Does it latch and hinge on both sides?
