Banjo Fittings...

Thought I'd throw a question out there that's totally unrelated to brake systems, cars and hot rods...

Picked up a 275gallon water cube for irrigating a garden.  In order to hook up a pump to run the sprinklers I need to go from a 2" buttress fitting to a 2"NPT.  Anyone familiar with a supplier within the GTHA/Niagara area for this type of fitting?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Nick

Thanks for the help/links fatchuk. I need the fitting shown in the attached photo and was hoping to find a local company who supplies these things.

I guess I was thinking that you might be able to contact one of those sites to find out if they have a local Canadian supplier...

I do appreciate the time you took to look up and share those links and that'll probably be my next step to call them as well as usplastics.com. Thought I'd ask around here first as I'm sure that others who use these cubes have run into this situation. Already tried to MacGyver a solution using a rubber coupler with hose clamps on each end. However, because the tank's buttress threads are so course ... the connection drips. I hate leaks...

Check to see if you have a NOBEL in your area. They might be able to help.

I always thought that it was an odd place for a chin bar.I always figured it was there for a work out or if you were constipated.to steal your line the devil made me do it. another thought was for holding your self up after a heavy night or day of tipping a few too many back.damn devil

I wonder if you could check with an irrigation company if there are any farms left in the niagara region.I say any left tongue in cheek with the developers buying them up.I would check yellow pages for them worth a shot

HAH!  sooooo that's what those bars are for.  I always thought it was part of the toilet's flushing system...

There's a theory out there... 'the faster you move... the slower time passes   '.. Just can't seem to move fast enough to make that happen...

58Chevy, Studeshaker - will give those guys a call tomorrow .. see what I can kick over. Thanks :)

54vicky - truer words were never spoken... most of the farming supply outlets that I remember as a kid are gone. They're either expanding vineyards or filling up greenspace with sub-divisions at a record pace. The existing stores selling irrigation supplies that I've contacted point me to the big box stores ... Home Depot, Rona, Home Hardware... etc. Thanks for the suggestion Sir.

That is a fairly common fitting that is used to connect flexible hose to a pump.
As someone said, local irrigation supply houses should have it in stock.
There is a company Vandenburg or something like that who has outlets in Delhi and Milton.
You might even get it at your local TSC store.

what you have is a tote 48x48 normally the bottom connection is a wet line coupler looks like your picture but has two wings that lock it in place. check the tsc under the bridge in st catharines if they don't have it there is 3 or 4 hydraulic places  on collier rd think thats the name anyway one block back toward the falls. niagara valve and fitting is in that area to . all within a square block or two.

Some had the buttress fitting like the OP mentioned. Plastic 45 gallon drums also use the same fitting.

If its not cam lock then it has to be a sanitation fitting the same stuff you use for drains. i don't think home depot would carry it to male npt  but they will have it to abs and then just join it with a 2" coupler the rubber ones with a gear clamp on each end to what you want

Thanks very much for the info Chris!  Will be putting them in my rolodex.

After A LOT of calling around yesterday I came across a company who can provide me with the style of fitting I'm looking for...  Atkinson Maple Syrup Supplies.  They're out of Oro-Medonte Township up near the Barrie area.

http://atkinsonmaple.com/

Would like to thank everyone for all their help and suggestions and last but not least good laughs.  Have a great weekend!

Nick
