I'm absolutly positive that's Ipperwash - good eye Tom. Things change pretty quick up there when the winds pick up. It has much to do with how shallow the water is and the sand bars. I have helped hold down a boat or two while the owner got his tractor ready. I couldn't imagine taking the chance with a standard 4X4 or SUV - I know it's not salty sea water, but it's still got to be torture on the diff and brakes.....interior in some cases!!!! A nice tall vintage tractor is a popular choice for good reason!

It shouldn't be an issue in the future though, as I've heard they're closing the beach to motorized traffic- I guess the real concrete boat launch on the west side of Kettle Point will be a busy place this year.

Know a guy that had an 07 canyon wrote off doing that water never even came above the bottoms of the door but was missing a bolt or plug in the floor pan. seems they thought it was a good idea to mount all the critical control modules low inside the cab . insurance called it quits after the dealer hit 20 + grand to repair

I once watched some young hunks try to launch an outboard ski boat at a local beach. They had a Jeep so they just rolled it into the water right off the sandy beach, no ramp required, and they were being loud and boisterous, obviously trying to impress the many bikinis on the beach that day. Once the boat was in the water however, a guy in the boat started whispering – as loud as he could – that there was water in the boat. This went on a couple of times but the driver still couldn’t hear him so he ended up shouting “we forgot the drain plugs”! The driver quickly yanked the boat up the beach with water draining out the transom drains as he went. The bikinis were suitably impressed as was everyone else

Yes thats Ipperwash beach. I used to launch a pair of waverunners off of that beach with a 2wd GMC reg cab longbox. Of course my double trailer and jetskis were quite a bit lighter.
If we ever had troubles with traction, my buddy would fire up the jetskis and hold the throttles open. More than enough help to get moving again.

That guy was way too far in.

I think that being a boat launch is kinda worse then the retards that use it.
