Whats the best whitewall cleaner out there for cleaning my wide whites, two are going yellow on me, just from sitting around - they are brand new never been on the road yet but are 3 years old

I have heard horror stories on using the wrong things

Well I use spray nine and a scub brush then one of the tire foam shine products because that's what my Dad used. But that's a old trick and maybe someone might think it is harmful...Don't know but we did Ben's Camaro that way and it still worked for us.....

I am a former detailer for a world class collection....and whether its his cars or mine...

Whestleys Tire White....onyl get it in the states....HOWEVER if you do....here is some tricks. DO NOT GET IT ON PAINT. 2nd it will leave a white residue and using tire dressing will help remove that.Whestleys now has a black wall cleaner. Works great. I always stock up when in the states.(i am only 1 hr away)Its cheap too. $3 a bottle.

If in Canada only 2 suggestions....Spray Nine(cover your mouth....hard on lungs).

Comet with bleach and bristle scrub brush...use lots of soap after..... get at $1 store.

Tire dressing of choice will help eliminate any white residue. Some like none or little  or some like me drown their tires for gloss look. To each their own.

Hope this helps

I've used spray nine or simple green and found either does a good job. Use a nylon scrub brush, aggressive enough without hurting anything. Used to hear of brake fluid and carb cleaner being used back in the day, both will cause problems and remove the oils and plasticizers in the rubber causing it to crack and possibly fail. (I actually did the brake fluid bit back in my teen years, and yes it did make them look good for short while. But I also burned up a set of tires in about six weeks so they were never around long enough to see any lasting effect.)

If they are Coker yellow walls there may be no way to save them however they have been known to replace them under warranty[ even without a receipt]

I forgot to mention they too. Anything other than a white wall is a no no. I too learned the hard way.

the spray 9 and SOS pads is another great

 way. Thanks for adding Carl

We sell vinyl cleaner for pool liners, and sell lots of it, by taking a bottle out to the customers car, and cleaning 1/2 a whitewall tire. Stuff REALLY works.
