I am hoping someone can help me as I have read through most related post and not found any answers. I have a 350 with a th350. I did a quick tune up and afterwards the transmission would not go into any gear. I checked the vacuum line and the shift linkage. Also checked the fluid with it warm and level and if anything is high (not low). Next thought is to drop the fluid and replace.
What am I missing or what did I cook??

Thanks

Probably just a coincidence that this happened when you did the tune up......Is the fluid a nice pink colour?...Does it smell burnt?

HI MIKE : You said you checked the vacuum lines -- I had the identical thing happen because I had jarred the vacuum line off at the trans end and it would only run in 1 st gear ( very frightening , but a quick fix ) -- Hope this helps -- LATER -- DON / fleet 51

Fluid does seem pink and odourless (except for the oil smell). I will check the trans end for the vac line.

Thanks

if you've got low gear only, i'd definitly check vacuum line/modulator valve. and if it isn't a linkage issue then it's likely internal, and, as harry said, just coincidental to the tune up.

If you have low gear only and vacuum, check the governor gear. They are nylon like a speedo gear and wear out.
