Out to Lunch on Price on 55 American Pontiac I saw for sale today at car show in Pefferlaw Ont. Asked what he was looking for $ wise & was told "if you don't have a hundred grand don't talk to me" so I don't think he talked to too many people, nice 2 dr. htp. but all I saw was about $25000 car at the most!!!!  Like to get whatever he's been "smoking"!!  Must have watched too many B-J auctions lately????  Pete

After having several 55-57 pontiacs - I can tell you that unless it was a perfect convertable survivor with incredibly low miles, it is worth nowhere near that.

A frame off restored 57' Pontiac dual quad convertable only went for $78,000 recently at auction.

I Knew the previous owner of this car and I know what she sold it for and he stole it. He has since painted it and re did the interior, It was a solid piece and would not have needed any body work even the chrome was nice. I asked him if it once belonged to the previous owner and he almost through a fit. Saying that was the reason he painted it was because everyone kept asking the same question. It is a nice car but if he thinks he is going to get that kind of coin he should take to the auction. That would be an eye opener for him for sure.

Most car show are full of people who think old cars are investments. I hang with guys who think old cars are old cars. Not many of us out there any more.
