I'm just doing some preliminary research and looking at the various options for car clubs to publish websites. With the rise in the use of social media I know that a number of clubs are using facebook as a means to publish info about their activities. I was wondering though for those of you in clubs that have websites, what do you pay for those sites to be hosted and do you pay for someone to update/manage them?
Yup we (Auto aces)pay for ours, a whopping $10 a month. I take care of it, though trying to get a bunch of computer not smart folks to use the forums and picture gallery has been trying....lol

I'm in the Country car Club out of Cannington Ont. No web site so cost is 0 !!!! Most of our members are too busy with family stuff now ie. grandkids & is falling apart after almost 40yrs.!!! Only 3 or 4 of us doing cruise & shows & that's spotty too!!! Too bad this happens, was a great club & did a lot of things together, Now NOTHING!!!!

One thing about todays technology etc, is that having a car club website can only help keep car clubs going. It also makes the younger crowd more interested. Things change and we have to change with the times
years ago you needed a newspaper to be able to find car club like may be old autos now websites makes that 10 times faster to get access to info so there is no way that technology can even be blame for people changing hobbies and nothing can be more rewarding than enjoying the rare times that grandkids have to share even if it means chatting with them on line
last july I was around Belleville and if it wouldn t be for this website I would have even known the was a cruise night got to even meet a member of this site that was really enjoyable

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm thinking about developing a section on my web server to host club websites. It would be an easy to use interface for non- techies to be able to use. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

I wouldn't know about grandkids, never had children, cars are my "passion" & really enjoyed going on a fall tour with club members in past yrs. but
now they all have conflicting schedules & nobody can agree on when the tour will be & by that time in the fall most have put their cars to storage or some never even got them out at all???
