My 35 chev, bringing it home
Permalink

Hi all,

I found a few old pictures from 1977,  the  the day my Dad and I brought home his 1935 Chev masters sport coupe.

My Dad used to see the old chev cruise the Yonge st and Eglington ave area back in the late 50s early 60s.

My Dad had a Esso gas station the area and knew the old guy that owned the chev and wanted the car, the old guy was not interested

in selling it, years past and one day the old guy showed up and asked my Dad if he was still interested and of coarse he was.

The deal was made and home it came, here are a few pics from the day we picked it up,the car sat for many years in a underground garage

at Yonge and Lawence.

It was a little dusty

We got it loaded up for the trip home

37 years later we still have the old chev.

Here it is after a little spit and polish

Hi Fleet51, yes that would have been me, but it was more like 7-8 years ago, time sure does fly by when you are having fun.

This is what the car looks like now.

In hindsight I wish I had left the car as it was

Remember the car well Ron. I think the first time I saw it was at the Rodmasters meet at Shady Acres in Binbrook and would hate to date that memory..lol Maybe early 80's ? Never realized the car came with the GMC and tri-carbs. Good to see you are still using it.
