You guys have been talking about a dash mounted video camera so I bought a 20 dollar one off ebay just to get used to what I needed and twenty bucks I could always throw it away but it's not to bad,I will update as time goes to a better one.But I have a question,I download to my mac and can watch it fine but when I try to send it the recipient can't open it?? What am I doing wrong?
Check the extension of the file to insure that it is not proprietary to the software, if so, adjust the format to .mpeg or .avi, this should open it to other available mediums.
I use one I bought from Xess cargo for 9.99. Made a bracket to clamp on the roll bar. It works really well. since it doesn't auto shutoff. I can turn it on when I start for the line and turn it off when I get back to the pits. It will do 2 hours of video. I had another but its auto features kept shutting it off or refocusing it and I got sick and tired of its antics and quit using it. don

If it's video, and they are on windows, they might want to try downloading VLC (www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html). I have found that sometimes the default windows media player doesn't play certain types of video files.
And what did you buy?
I've been thinking of using my gopro for such a thing, as it is capable, and that would make use of it for when i'm not out doing stupid things that need recording,
problem is, seems like a thief magnet.
I agree, would be a thief magnet. Its just as silly leaving your GPS holder or GPS cord laying on the seat. Thieves know its in the glove box or under the seat. Less they see the better. Perhaps a hidden mounted one would work?Something made to look factory?
