We spotted the 53[I think that is the year] Buick parked at the Visitor Center in Beaver Creek Yukon. We pulled in to have a closer look and met the owner, Syd, who was the manger of the Visitor Center. He invited us to his place to view his stuff. Syd has been collecting for many years, he is in his 70 ' s. He has a large wood fired cook stove that came from a camp near Dawson City. He told me it took himself, two friends and a team of horses 3 days to drag out to a road. He told me he was a much younger man when they did that !
Yes, it was a hard place to leave, he loved to talk !. We stopped on the return trip but he was nowhere to be found ! I tried to buy several things but his response was, "Son, I am a collector, not a salesman." I stifled a chuckle on that one ! But he was willing to part with some of the cars.
