about the original Captain America going up for auction ????. I think they said it would go for like 1.2 million ???.

There used to be a guy came to the bike show at the CNE , and he had a real nice clone of the bike . And I think they had an episode about him , on Canajun Pickers ..77.

The bike being auctioned is one of the three (I believe), that were built for the movie.
That specific bike was wrecked in the movie, goes into the field and the forks come apart etc..

The actor from Grizzly Adams (can't remember his name?), took possession of it and had it restored.
And that's what they figure it will fetch at auction, $1.2 million.

I believe that the "Captain America" and the "Billy Bike" that were in the museum in Niagara Falls, belong to Ed [Edjo] Leslie in Havelock. I don't know if they were clones or what. Yes, he was featured on Canadian Pickers. Edjo has been building bikes since at least the mid-sixties when I first heard of him. He now has an amazing collection of vintage Harleys.
Kenny Kerr [builder of the "Eater" and many others] is another famous bike builder from at least the sixties, last I heard he was still doing his thing at his shop in Newmarket.

Sorry, just brings back memories of my biker days. Sold the last one when they made me wear a helmet..... ya I know!

Ha...Edjo...Vagabonds...BDR's...
Kenny Kay had a model A pickup in the car shows way back when.
He had a shop in Hamilton for many years.
A very talented man, for sure.

Jarvis, I was talking about Kenny KERR, not Kenny KAY. Don't know if you misread it, or you just wanted to talk about Kenny Kay, indeed a very talented man.

When I had my old 45 trike, way back when, Ken's Custom Cycle in Scarborough(I think that is what it was called) was the place to go for the chopper parts. If you wanted original 45 parts Sunglow on Queen had everything I needed . Ed

Yes these are all the same bikes...
Edjo actually ended up building Scott another clone of the Captain America chopper afterward as well, I had been asked if I would paint the tanks
but he needed them far too quickly for me to have the time to do them.. Our family was on the same episode as Edjo , could not have been a worse
day for filming in Ontario than it was that day, snow kept coming and we had 4 vans full of city slicker movie types that could not drive to save their
own asses and ended up moving their vehicles from shoot to shoot for them...lol. Edjo still builds a pretty mean bike and has a few very nice vehicles
in the collection as well..My 1959 Mercury came from Ed when he and I swapped for my chopped 49 Merc. He also runs the highly successful Havelock
Country Jamboree, the man is still not afraid of hard work.
