Not sure where you got the 80 inch max width. That's only 6ft 8in, most car trailers need a deck wider than that. 8ft 6in is the widest you can go, and includes everything that sticks out. Even the 'extendible' towing mirrors come under that law. I'd be curious to see what the big trucks measure at.

Here's the list;

Width; 8ft 6in max overall or 2.6 m or 102 inches
Length; 75ft 6in max overall or 23 m
Height; 13ft 6in or 4.15 m
Weight; to be determined by vehicle reg.

Exceed any of these and you need a O/O permit. (Overweight/Oversize Permits)

I'm 99.9% sure the max width is 102" (8' 6"), not 104 (8' 8"). Not trying to be a smart ass, just for clarification purposes only. My son looked this up a few years ago when he built a car dolly.

Max 8ft 6in at the outer most width, you have to have it weighed and the MTO will give you a VIN to stamp on the tongue .  The good part is if your pulled over they weigh the trailer and load, so, if you are pulling 5000 lbs total that's what it is, if it's a MFG trailer with 3500 lb axles the manufacture's tag says 7000 lbs they say it's 7000 lbs even if it's empty.  If you are going to the USA you will need a "Breakaway trailer  brake unit".  Some states require brakes on all axles.

 I need to add some small marker lights to show the width of the fenders to be 100% legal.

My Idea is to use it to tow my john deere 1025r loader,I just want to know about extra lighting, sides and the 3 at the rear,I can get away with 80'' no problem,but do they measure the deck width or total overall width at the fenders.I think I will put all the lights on it and the tape to be safe.I have built trailers 18' and 32' before and went max width and loaded it with lights and tape. I just wasn't sure if I went 79'' wide what I have to do.

 in hindset on this lights on the outside fenders part i am not sure if this is still a regulation. i know for many years it was but not today, maybe. years ago you could pick out the american trucks running the 401 especially at night as they did not have lights on their mirrors, farthest point out, and the canadian trucks did. us canadian guys stuck out big time when you got deeper south and were surrounded by yanks at night due to the lights on the mirrors. 

 here's one, it was the early eighties around yakima washington and i was picking up a load of apples. pulled into a scale house in the middle of the night and they pulled me over to the side and i went in with my paper work figuring i was going through the regular routine but not. i had blue lights on the top of my mirrors, the ones that had the shield that slid so you could keep the glow away from your eyes and the blue lights in the top corners of the windshield inside. mood lights-lol. i had to cut the wires to the blue lights as it was illegal due to the only vehicles allowed blue lights was snow equipment on the highways. when i got home i just wired them to their own switch. after all you had to be styling. lol

Yep, if the 'outside fender to outside fender' width is over 80". Even my 6X10 utility trailer has them!

3 lights mounted within a 6" to 12" space as per website.

There have been a number of changes effective Jan 1st 2015 regarding trucks and trailers. The best thing to do is check the MTO site www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/ as well as ccmta.ca/en/. I,m a Truck and Coach mechanic working for a major Canadian trucking company. Since January there have been some significant changes in all areas of the rules and regulations. There has also been an increase in safety blitzes, not just provincial but regional jurisdictions as well. Best to cover your asses now a days more than ever.
