not so sure it's a crash -  there are no carbs on the engine. maybe it came off a hauler on the highway ?

Doug, I think the induction system, whatever it is, has been pushed back off the manifold. Unlike the written description it does not appear that the body is off the frame rather the front end is ripped off the frame and is sitting an an angle.

Hope nobody got hurt in this one. It is a nasty crash, it is a nasty write up.

Looks as if the front end broke off , open wheel probably bumped something with the tire. With the lack of External damage the wright up is harsh but true Mig welding at its worst . By the big yellow tarp inside the cab I would think it never worked out well for who ever was driving.

Can see the carbs still attached to high rise & air cleaners. After having a good look at some RAT RODS this past yr. at shows & cruise's I can see this happening!!!! Not saying "all" rat Rods, BUT man there are some that are totally unfit for the road, workman ship [if you can it that] so poor, glob welds everywhere, Just TOTAL junk, but it's on the road, & usually have "Historic" plates to Boot!!!!!

Maybe my eyes are just bad, but that "big yellow tarp inside the cab" looks more like a yellow plexi-glass windshield.

Hard to say by the crappy picture but for who ever was involved I hope you are correct.

Yeah. as the others have pointed out the top of the tunnel ram and carbs with air cleaners are laying 90 degrees across the top of the engine.

screen-shot-2014-11-05-at-9.09.29-am.jpg

That does appear to be a tinted windshield rather than a tarp, but man, Was that roof taped to the body or what?!!!

The whole deal just looks to me like a very poorly grafted aftermarket or modern factory front suspension as there doesn't appear to be a lot of impact trauma.....although, I guess he could have rear ended someone. Even so, the front suspension clip should be crumpled beyond recognition long before separating from the frame!!!

If the same guy that welded the chopped roof welded the frame, Well you know the rest of the story.
