most excellent cat. progress i mean not the chubby. on your recommendation i ran a equalization tube across the back. i notice on another site someone had welded one in. if it wasn't such a bitch to remove i probably would have gone that route. on another note i have a pair 8 1/2" tall velocity stacks coming for the beast 5" base 3" filter. i have 10" clearance above the carbs without cutting into the hood. what did ya do for linkage?

I came out of retirement (so to speak) to lend a hand with Cat in the hats newest project. It is entered into the Detroit show already. We were doing body work the last couple weekends.
As the last picture shows.......The Cat is quite puzzled and confused about which brakes to use. He seemed a little stressed about the subject when I asked him about what he was going to run......He mumbled something about ditching the Wilwoods for a duster set up????? I don't know what he was talking about....must have been the paint fumes or something...............

Say get him to send a P.M to ..oozaG..I believe he could be of help , I have heard he is pretty up to speed on brake stuff on gassers..He might be willing to offer some advice..I could suggest a fairly large stick on a good sized fulcrum with a piece of biased ply firestone tire nailed to the bottom and if installed at precisely the right length and angle it could work as long as he is tall enough to be able to reach down and change the foot shoe while in motion..he made need one on each side of the wheel..probably a good idea to carry a boat anchor for an emergency brake ..Tell him not to sweat the small stuff...he could use his skirt as a drag shute also as long he is careful not to get his _alls caught in the process..biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

I'm using a kugel 90* setup, mounted under dash set up. With a 7" diaphragm booster and a 1.00" bore master cylinder, on my '38 Dodge project. At the wheels, so far...the front are 11" rotors (GM), mounted on Horton's caliper brackets, with Corvette calipers, the rear, I've not decide yet. I might just stick with the drums that are on the 9" Ford, as most disc brake conversion with widen my track, and I'm already tight. And I'm not so concerned about stopping, because it won't be fast, no small block Chevy's for me.
^^^ the booster and lines are away from the heat (expansion), so I'm not concerned (like I was in the first place).no
It also helps keep the firewall clean. Hard to teach old Cats new tricks.
But If "The Cat" really would like something like the 340 Duster's set up, with a Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper set up.
Kelsey Hayes made a 4 piston caliper disc brake set up for Mustang GT's, Boss and Shelby's, that'll fit a lot better, and keep it period correct.biggrin
Seems to me like he has other issues...besides brakes. He simply just doesn't know when to stop.
The body work looks great by the way.
Hope this helps...
Edit: I wouldn't be too concerned about paint fumes effect, unless he suddenly develops a twitch. wink

Hey Glenn: It was nice to see you again yesterday the car was stunning, Congrats on the sale that didn't take long. I am sure the new owner can't wait to get it home. So I guess it is out to the barn and pick the next one. Whatever it is I am sure it will be nice too. Just remember you just set the bar...lol
Glen, I don't know where you get the energy from, two weekends, I'm exhausted. Your car is awesome, especially the Kenny Kay paint job. After witnessing the judging in Detroit, I am of the very firm opinion that you indeed did have the Riddler winner. I hate judged shows and both shows verified why, name brand winners and a 1971 El Camino winning best in show in Toronto? Give me a break. I must give kudos to Chalice, he was everywhere, had a great selection of show vehicles, I have never seen so many good vendors and the panels were just great. Congrats on the sale and can hardly wait for the next one. (notice I didn't mis-spell the show names once)
I had chatted with Glenn and I looked the car over very closely and YES, it is an awesome build. Just like the ones back in the 60's that I remember.
Now as for the awards, I was there and I think the real reason Glenn won all the awards was because Courtney Hanson, who was announcing the winners, just liked Glenn! LOL
Saw the car in person saturday night, and it is very cool! I couldn't find you anywhere in the show, ...you must have been in the parking lot with Courtney or something. LOL! Congratulations again Glenn!

Congrats on your awards at Detroit , they were well deserved . You did a great build on your Gasser. I wish you good luck on your next build and you will have to go some to outdo the "Instigator".
I,m sure you will get the best brake line award on your next one. Again great build , well done.
