If you have seen my 'fire sale' in the parts section, you will notice I have the makings of a 302 Chevy.

I am wondering what it could sell for if I build it with hyperutectic pistons and double bump heads.

It won't be a DZ302,  but would be the same thing.

Also need to decide if I build it that way,  do I put it in my Chevy II.

Would you not need a Chevy II  specific block ??

No you don't need a Chevy II block but if you are running stock front suspension you will require the chevyII front sump, specific  pick up tube and matching oil pan.

I have the engine. I do need the oil pan and pickup. I have done the 6-8 swap in the early nova before. Not the easiest, but not hard with the right tools.
I wonder if I SHOULD do the swap.

Why not? You will need the Chevy II oil pump and the correct oil pump shaft to distributor. Regular Chevys are too long. Been there, done it, smilebiggrin

With a four speed, a Chevy II specific block 362,721 or 194 castings would make the swap easier. Parts are available to put ANY small block in early X body cars. There is one part that moves the pivot ball to the correct position to run manual trannys with all the factory parts. check out www.stevesnovasite.com
