well...its going in my 39 chev...however frame is scratch built...I have space for something 18 x 28 x 10 deep...
I found a fuel cell but its 300 , comes with fuel sender...
Go to www.spectrapremium.com and look up Jeep Wrangler or YJ. You can get either carb or FI models. The dimensions are real close.
Every rad shop or auto parts store will get them for you. You can take it to a local rad shop and they could close up the unwanted holes in it for you.

I'm at the same place you are, knuckles. I'm putting mine behind my seat over the pinion roughly same dimensions. I'm going to try and bend one up myself out of 16ga. and have a buddy of mine tig it up for me (so it doesn't leak). I'll weld in a couple of perpendicular baffles in it and a couple of 1/4" or 3/8" NPT weld bungs on the bottom and an aftermarket adjustable fuel level sending unit. My cap will be exposed on panel between seat back and rumble lid so I'm going to buy aftermarket chrome cap and weld filler bung with grommet. I might even try to make a lower section on one side of the pinion with another outlet and valve as a reserve tank. Like I don't have enough on my plate!!

Interesting point...
there are two lower connections and 1 upper rollover vent and I assume the other upper connection is either a return line connection or the second pickup connection?.....does anyone know for sure I cannot find anything online ...All it states is there are two pickup connections, one return and one vent...does not say which is which
Just curious about the bottom pick-up, why is that? Are they going to be sticky about it?
If a line breaks all the fuel runs out.
Depends are who "they" are? Mechanic doing the safety, if he knows about it, possibly. MTO if they pull you over and look, yes. Your fellow rodders, sometimes.

Bottom mount pick up for fuel are not legal not the street. Not trying to start an argument over this statement. Just informing in case it matters.
Great advice Mike! Thanks for doing what you can to help the Rodder members out with a little info. Always better to be aware BEFORE you finish the project then after it's done, only to have to redo later - saving energy, time and material dollars better used in other areas of the build.
Please don't let bizzare comments from one member deter you from helping out in the future.

Thanks for all the comments guys!...good and bad sometimes we need to hear it all :)
I am going to go ahead and use the fuel cell as I own it now....I will install a shut off valve near connection on tank and loop the line up before I run to front of car...hopefully it passes safety as did my 57 when I did basically the same!....
if not I will cap the connections and have another connection put in top of tank..
I drove a pro street car for many years, with a plastic fuel cell in the trunk and the braided fuel lines (and possibly a hint of the red cell) visible beneath the rear bumper (and I mean "drove" it, locally in the GTA, to Trenton, Sarnia, Gravenhurst, Newmarket, Milton, Schomberg, Fenelon Falls etc etc). I personally never had any problems with the MTO or cops.
That being said, with the MTO/MOE/Cops doing those safety blitzes (and not only on long weekends), if I were building a car, I'd try to make it as legal as I could (functioning parking brake, wipers etc) ... I'd hate to waste money (in the future) on tickets or possibly having the car impounded due to a Cop/MTO person determining that it is "unsafe to drive" due to something as simple as fuel line routing. Ever seen those long weekend blitzes on the news where the cops boast about how many "unsafe" vehicles had their plates removed?
As I see it, there is no better time to "fix" fuel line routing (to be legal), than while the car is being built.
Moeller Fuel Tanks www.moellermarine.com/oem/fuel_tanks/fuel-tanks/ . They come with sending unit, Stewart Warner wiring pattern for the fuel gauge. Very affordable. Located in Ohio. OR try a marine salvage yard. I went with new and ordered the dimensions I required.
