To pay for my car habit, I have been in the IT field for 17ish years now. I'm starting to hate it, recently worked something like 30 straight hours on a network migration,

and at the end of the thing, the only thing anyone could tell was there was a different model core switch in the network closet.

But, a few months ago, I decided to take apart and clean my instruments on the '49 dodge.

Took this picture last night after re-wiring and getting the bulbs cleaned and installed.

*THIS* is why I work on cars. 

you put your hours in, you have something to show for it.

And a lot of folks here are looking at your post and saying "What the h*ll is he talking about?" confuse

 a different model core .....I have tapped a few "Model Cores" in my time

switch in the network closet................I had a cousin that had a "Switch"...and Came "Out of the Closet"

You it guys..........kill me.....

My guy puter comes in.....taps on the puter for about 10 minutes...than stares at the screen yappin on his cell at his girlfriend for an hour

taps a few more times...say your fixed....leaves and sends me a bill for about $500

GRRRRRRRRR

I swear they send me viruses....just so they can come out and "Fix" them.....for a bucket of money

 

 

oh yeah....almost forgot......... cluster looks great

Nice to see other IT slobs around here. I'm a networking guy mostly.

Heheh it's true. another 30 hours and I can maybe get it started. Took a big chunk out of most of the wiring work on the weekend. Now I just need to do the stuff for the rear of the car.

I am a networking and security guy. Lots of certs, the works. Been doing IT for 20 years now, and security for 4. I play with cars on the side for stress relief.

The gauges look great, nice job. As to the IT stuff, if it has a computer and a server, it will have a glitch....................known fact of life.

I've been 20 years in Telecom business and I hate it as well, not the business or work but how it makes everyone feel, at least me... Was working also earlier in networking and security side and could change back there... Work with the cars keeps me sane, sort of...

Very nice gauges!

 Thanks, and yea, My Father did 26 years at nortel, so I knew enough to avoid telecom, I *May* look at network security/PCI becuase the pay is good. 

looking at what you are doing with that 38 dodge.. well You're almost as insane as I am. :)
