An insurance company picked 16 vehicles at different car shows across Ontario to be in this tournament.
You have to be on Facebook to vote. There probably aren't many guys on here that are on Facebook, but maybe the Ladies, friends or children might be. You can vote as many times as you want.
The page will come up with all 16 cars. Click on any pair. A page comes up with 2 cars. Scroll down then click on the green box (advance this car). You can vote for 1 car or eight or anything in between.
That will take you back to the tournament page where you click on the box (submit your choices). Then a Facebook box pops up and you hit share and that's it.
Voting runs from January 5, 2015 - January 17, 2015. The top 8 vote getters move on.
I think these are all cars that are street driven and beautiful. Go cheer on your friends.
Regarding Facebook , the chatty part of it is cr@p but I'm on about 20 Facebook Groups , all old Ford/Merc / Drag Racing related that are pretty good . When you join one , for instance 1953-1956 Ford F100 , you will be reminded of similar groups avaliable . Because we are talking old cars and trucks , it's mostly older guys joining and the B.S. chit chat is almost non existent .
Thank you Warren for posting the "on line car show" information sponsored by Vintage Auto Insurance.
Following is the link that will get you to the Round Robin voting page. (Warren you just left - /championship
off your link) www.vintageautoinsurance.ca/championship
There will be four rounds of on line voting ending at the end of February when just two cars remain. These two cars will be part of the Vintage Auto Insurance display at the "NEW" Autorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Show at the International Centre in Toronto - March 13, 14 & 15. The winner will be announced at the show and receive the first prize of $5,000. Runner up will get $2,000. The two Semi Finalists each receive $1,000.
My car -- John Willoughby - T Bird Deuce is one of the cars and I would appreciate your support. However, I would urge everybody to check out all the cars in the running and you will see some amazing cars, ALL deserving of your vote.
As for Facebook -- teejay99 said it best.
I also am on a number of groups like Drag Racing and 32 Deuce sites. There are some great pictures and information that show up from "back in the day" Terry, us old guys do like this stuff.
I looked over the whole lot of 'em and went through the entire process. Voted for Sherwood, John and Gary^ plus 5 others I though were best.
Why? Because it let me.....or so I thought. When I hit the 'Submit' button, up popped a log in request. BOOOOOOO! Sorry guys, no votes from me, I don't do Facebook. My heart was in the right place!!!!

I did exactly what Fordy did, I have a facebook account, but I really despise using it.
I voted for Will, Sherwood and Gary and a '59 Impala, but when I got the "Facebook" prompt to share, I declined.
Thanks to everyone that voted for BUKSHOTT. We made it into the Great 8 round. Voting has started for this round, and I would appreciate your votes to help me get through this next round. Sorry to see John and the T Bird Deuce eliminated. Don't forget to share or your vote doesn't count.
What's the point of requesting people vote for one car over another?
This is supposed to be a "peoples choice" award so shouldn't the winner win because that particular car truly IS the peoples choice, not win because an owner solicited or requested the most votes?
Kinda reminds me of something I witnessed several years ago. A Corvette club member invited me to a car show (not just for Corvettes), when I arrived, he mentioned that all the members of his club would be voting for a specific members car and asked that I do so too (I didn't). They would pick a different member at each other show. The idea was to virtually guarantee that one of their members would be taking home a peoples choice trophy.
It just seems silly to me that a trophy might be "earned" simply because of the number of people the owner was able to coax a vote out of.
It seems to me we still have two friends to decide our vote on if they both make it to the finals. We wouldn't even know about this event if one of the entrants hadn't mentioned it. With the nice cash reward at the end, I don't see any thing wrong with soliciting yours friends support. It certainly happens in every other facet of life.
