Its been quiet on the site so I thought I would post some pics of my winter project . Im putting a BBC into my 56 Cad.Turning out to be more work than I had anticipated. A small block would have been easier, but I have never taken the easy route-why start now. The pics don't want to download-Ill try later.

Looks good Steve. It looks like it belongs there. I like those bullets. How many irons do you have in the fire?
HI Nino, how is your project coming? Im still working on the house, running the upholstery shop and doing the Caddy this winter. I think that's enough for now.
Hey Steve, I'm actually getting some work done on it, between weekends and snow days at work! I got a new phone and I'm having trouble getting the pics off it to my compooper. I see "running upholstery shop", in your last post, is that auto upholstery? If so I need some consultation! I'm at the planning stage of where and how to put my seat/s. That car must be a smooth ride. Looks like I'll be in the garage today!

Yep,shes a smooth ride. Drove it up from Texas 4yrs ago via Carolina and the Blue Ridge Parkway.Would like to go back down some day. Nino, are you going with bucket seats or bench? I can help out either way.
with the low 1 st gear ratio an the over drive in the 700 r 4 that's gonna be a dream to drive when its done ..77.
That's the goal here-to get the torque of the big block and the benefit of the overdrive. Its a low compression truck motor so I can burn regular also. The old caddy motor used hi test-15 cents a liter more!
Hey Steve, I don't know yet whether i'm going bucket or bench because I don't know how much "crush or depression " of the material or construction of the seat, if that makes any sense! I'd like to go bench because it looks right in a roadster but because of the channel and the height of the tranny/driveshaft tunnel I might have to split the seat in two but I would like it easily removable to access master cylinder under drivers seat. I don't want to take over your thread!

Nino-you can make the foam thicker on each side of the tunnel and upholster across the top to look like a bench. Let me know when you are ready. I like doing old school tucknroll, if that's what you are into.
Yes , that's exactly what I was thinking too for the bench look and yes old skool all the way!! I'm going for late 50's early 60's hot rod look. I'd also eventually like to make a carson top for it ( a one piece rigid small tube frame/skeleton with canvas or vinyl stretched over it ) looking like a convertible top up. Did you get my text? CAN you get texts? I'll give you a call tomorrow.

Hey Steve how about a race when you are done. My bone stock 56 caddy to yours! I am only in Simcoe, not too far from you.

RV-that would be a hoot. We should do it at St Thomas dragway. It would blow their minds to see two 56 Caddys side by side. How about a pic of your car?

Here is some pictures of my car when I bought in NOV 13. Had 93000 original miles on it, been painted once, needs to be done again some day. It is a hoot to drive with power everything just no AC.
Steve wasn't really thinking about a 1/4 mile race more like a 100 mile drive. LOL

Its on the road. Just doing some shakedown runs and finding a few leaks. I have trans fluid coming out of the TV cable at the carb. Maybe a blocked vent? Anyway, the car cruises great ,trany shifts good, motor runs well.
