Those are definitely not what I would call "real" ladder bars.

There is a set on the Kijiji I would be all over except the 7 1/2 hour round trip to Windsor. I have a summit catalog at home and was looking to go that route. Just thought I would put it out there incase someone had a set laying around. Thanks anyway. Summit, here I come.

I have a set of Lakewood ladder bars for a 68-69 Chevelle. I am asking $100.

I live in Cameron, just 5 miles north of Lindsay. If you are still looking, call Bob at 705 359-1172.

"Just thought I would put it out there in case someone had a set laying around"

So you were expecting them for free? People go to the trouble of posting valid replies but you would rather spend $400 CDN at Summit and then spend 5 hours driving round trip to Port Huron to pick them up or have Summit ship them to your door for $500 Cdn. Just wondering.

Where does he even insinuate that he is looking for FREE ladder bars? confuseconfuse

He could have just as easily asked "does anyone have a Maverick 8" laying around, before I spend the bucks on having Moser, Bears, Strange, or whoever, make me one".  The wording "laying around" doesn't even begin to suggest he is hoping for a handout/freebie.  nono

Nothing wrong with picking up an unloved set of ladder bars off of someone who quite possibly, literally has them "laying around", for less than the cost of new, plus shipping .... well, not in my world.  hmmhmm

By the way ... where are the "valid" replies you speak of?  I'm not seeing anyone offering to sell him what he's actually looking for ... confusenono

Oh, and Wuga ... I'm still waiting patiently for the complete "screwdriver" story you claim I was a part of ... evileyeevileye

By the way, I have included a picture of "real" ladder bars ... those bolt-on units from Lakewood are NOT true ladder bars, regardless of how they are advertised.  smilesmile

I have been having trouble with my phone, now replaced and have just recently been able to get back posting on this site.

I am very grateful that I had some back up from a stranger. Kind of the way I always thought us car guys behaved. I am not although have been portrayed as a low life looking for strangers to give me there stuff for free. I understand to make other peoples things mine I have to pay money, it's been this way for quit some time. I'm not exactly sure why I would bother to tell you my plans because to tell you the truth it is none of your business what I do or don't do with "valid replies".

I will be sure to post what happens with this transaction in fear of anyone feeling left out

Okay, just to keep everyone up to date and make sure we can all sleep at night. I just got off the phone with Bob, seems like a real nice guy. I apologized for being so late to call him, he said that's no problem. I have purchased the ladder bars and will be picking them up this weekend. I apologize for any frustration I may have cause anyone here on this site, and will try to reply quicker in the future.
