BUMP - Would like to attend a Pugsy's metal meet, in 2016 (if one is being scheduled) with my adult son also attending.
I haven't done body work for 20 years, and this summer found my tailgate hinge rusted completely off my 1998 Chev. Silverado 4x4. - go out the O/A torches, and some 16 gauge sheet metal rough bent / got bit by the old bug, and job turned into a very enjoyable & solid repair
As a youngster, our son played years of travelling base ball and billiards, competing in the Top32 World Junior Level (held in Osaka, Japan) / but missing out on the whole car hobby. - now at 32 y/o (in the IT field), he realizes acquiring some hand tool skills alone side Dad, would be a big asset & auto knowledge would serve him well in life
- plus be a good way to kick start, a special father/son project
Currently building a 25x48 ft. shop, with plans on metal restoring a 65 Malibu S/S together (to start with)...before tackling the 67 Beaumont SD. - my wife and I dated in a '65 Chevelle 6 cyl. post car, 42 years ago...so the nicer Super Sport hardtop, will be well appreciated (once restored)
123pugsy - seems like an awesome experience in metal working, would be a great start for us to have under our belts. Please let me know, of any future metal working dates / and thanks in advance...my email is: beaumont67sd@gmail.com
