Which spindle match to swap to disccs brake on B body and can a full k member from near 77 to 79 dodge magnum be bolted to a63 B body to get disc brake
you should check out B BODIES ONLY If you sign up make sure you do the introduction thing. If you don't they get excited. Check out ----Schumacher Creative Services I think diplomat and 5th ave mid 80's spindles fit but you should verify it with someone else Good luck TMJ

I thought the early Mopars had the torsion bar that ran front-to-back, with one end of the torsion bar attached to a crossmember between the front seats and the firewall. I don't know about the 77-79 Magnums but I think the torsion bars ran from one side of the car to the other in cars like the Volare and Aspen. What I mean is, if one has torsion bars running lengthwise and the other car has torsion bars that run side-to-side, the crossmember ain't gonna fit.
thanks for some great info tell you the thruth I don t relly know how either one is built ,it s just that I know a guy who as a few dodge magnums and the parts are easy to get at and the price is right , but would a 72 or 73 b body be similar ?
B body K frames are generational - with some slight revisions within each generation
pre 66 cars have a unique K frame just for them
66-70 cars have their K frame with severial changes as the years passed
not sure about the 71-2 but 73-4 and newer K frames were isolated from the frame by rubber bushings - again different from the early stuff
so each different generation of B body will have it's own K frame
I don't believe the early car will swap a later K frame without redesigning it but I could be wrong
a spindle swap should be doable - I don't know what one to use on a '63 but I do know to watch the ball joint stud diameter vs the sizes of the holes the fit in in the spindle
- a small bolt pattern to large bolt pattern duster swap got the better of a friend on this one - didn't notice , bottom hole in big bolt spindle was lose on ball joint stud drove fine / even passed safety insp
but a few weeks later the top of the wheel was all the way in the fender while the bottom was leaned all the way out
it didn't chew up the bottom ball joint or the hole that fit losely , no , rather it flexed and fatigued the area around the upper balljoint where it fits into the upper control arm untill it ripped the upper ball joint right outta the control arm
volare / aspen used crosswise torsion bars - I think maybe the larger st regis and simular new porker of the same era used them too
I have seen that piece before on cars - it is optional and came on some of the higher line cars standard.
Also - the only disk brake spindles that will fit on your early B body and not put the ball joint into a bind are:
66-69's B-body - try to avoid as the brakes themselves are very expensive and prone to caliper seizing
70-72 B-Body, 70-74 E-body, 73-76 A body - the best choice, with large single piston calipers (either pin type or slider type, slider is best), large 10.75 rotors with an easy upgrade to 12", and cheap and easily available
R and F body spindles have different geometry which puts the ball joints in a bind at full compression, which is not a good thing.
