A while ago I saw a post or listing, on the internet somewhere, mentioning this event (and the date it was to be held on) . I then went to the Rodmasters clubs own website to verify the event and the date listed and ... found absolutely nothing on their site about it . There was only old info regarding a previous event held in 2014.
I assumed the venue must have made a mistake with listing the event (since the host club made no mention of it) and I never gave it another thought ... until just now when I spotted this post (two days after the event ).
Shame, as I've got a shopping list to fill and would have liked to have attended .

Several THOUSAND others didnt have a problem with the date.....it was probably the best attended in years
Too bad....would have like to meet you there.
There is another one coming at the end of April....maybe then

I'd like to meet you too ... how about we meet at the Hooters car show in Whitby Ontario.
If you go to RodderMagazine.ca, go to "upcoming events", click on "July 2015", you will find the needed information for the July 19 2015 show .
I would highly recommend that YOU PERSONALLY take the time to verify the date and location, if you have any intention of meeting me there. Why would I possibly suggest that to you? Well, it just so happens that Hooters Whitby CLOSED IN APRIL OF 2013 .... Yup, TWO LONG YEARS AGO (yet there it is, a current listing for a 2015 car show ).
In defense of RodderMagazine.ca, Rodders website it does state "We have not necessarily verified that all these are still operating" and suggest a call to the venue may be in order. The Website OldRide.com, under their "Ontario Events" calendar also posts this disclaimer "Note: Be sure to double check all event dates and locations as events could be subject to change due to weather and other circumstances. OldRide LLC is not responsible for miss-information and event changes".
Common sense (as well as the disclaimers from these websites) would suggest that it would be wise of me to verify both the actual existence of the Ancaster spring swap and its date. Easy enough to do, I'll just go to the website of the car club actually hosting the event. As stated, I (at that time) found NOTHING pertaining to Ancaster 2015 on Rodmasters site, so I just assumed it was, quite possibly another "Hooters Whitby 2015 show" where someone had posted inaccurate information on the internet, so I just let it slip from my mind.
No big deal really, just disappointing. I attended their fall 2014 swap, enjoyed it (although it was cold/windy), and had every intention of returning this spring (I've got plenty to sell too). I'm pretty sure they'll survive without my attendance .
As for the THOUSANDS who attended ... that's great, happy to hear it was well attended as that gives this event a sound foundation for continued success. Now if I could just convince the host club to update their site in a more timely fashion, the entire world would be a much better place in which to live .... peace to you and yours, you're a stout lad

interesting..Sometimes I wonder ,, as I sometimes post info on a website,, and it always makes me think... WHY can't people find that information.. why do people ask me questions about things that are in BOLD TYPE,, the 5W's lol... when I answer the phone.. hello, Jamie here,, and they say, can I speak to Jamie.. lol just human nature I guess..
so I wonder..if folks don't refresh their browser... as rodmasters use the same page http://www.rodmasters.com each time.. so if your browser didn't refresh.. you might be seeing what was posted there before... the fall meet........
the spring flyer was posted there.. http://www.rodmasters.com/2015springlswapmeet3.jpg
it was the fall meet flyer on feb 17th 2015,, but it changed to 2015spring around March 18, 2015 7:48:28 PM
What I really like about Rodmasters... is they put 2015 in the flyer ,,, some just post the dates.. and that drives me nuts when I find the page for LAST YEARS date,, which just happens to be a wknd again.. but the wrong weekend!
the other thing I like about a site like Rodmasters,, I can print it and post it , or give it to other guys interested,, and they get all the info needed including a real telephone number to call..... like Dragstrip Memories..
altho.. both those sites make it difficult to google without word clouds to search for ,,,, sigh...
plus,, if I google ancaster spring swap rodmaster it brings up confirmation on plenty of sites... and forum chatter about the swap meet
When is the next Swap meet to go to?
Back at the same place APR. 25: 2015 for road runners car club http://www.roadrunnerscarclub.com/images/page1.JPG
Or Rockton in MAY. 23 - 24: 2015 waterdowncarshow .... altho if you read http://waterdowncarshow.ca/... it says May 9 and 10, 2015,,, but the vendors can start to set up at 11:00 a.m.on Sept. 19 and the Gate Open to public at 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 20 and 21 which leaves me to ass-u-me that this is the 2014 dates,, lol that they neglected to update ..... sigh,,,,
not trying to cause a ruckus.. just you brought up a peeve of mine when I go searching for updated info on a event.. and it gets confoooosing! lol
It's OK Glen, I got my 'Readers Digest' yesterday and Norwell got his as well over cooling and screwdrivers.
Warren
"Norwell got his" .... are you kidding me? Numerous pics were posted on this site of Norwell's coupe. It obviously CLEARLY does NOT have an engine driven fan and does not appear to have an electric fan, mounted behind the rad. Since Norwell claims his intention is to drive this car, engine cooling will definitely be an issue without a fan of any kind (I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you agree with this ... feel free to correct me if you have any experience that would prove me wrong). Am I supposed to apologize to you or him for simply asking "what kind of fan are you running"? Seriously?
I have absolutely NO IDEA what you mean by "screwdrivers" ... be a dear and copy/paste that one for me as I'd love to see what you are talking about.
As for "you (Wuga) got yours" ... I was unaware that I am not allowed to have an opinion that differs from yours. I apologize profusely for MY OPINION that it is completely UNNECESSARY (and potentially damaging) posting personal information on the internet for the entire world to see ... if you are incapable of understanding the examples I included, please accept my condolences as I clearly have overestimated your abilities.
Eagerly awaiting your "screwdriver" story ....

This (above) appears to be EXACTLY where my problem with this past weekends event started.
The Rodmasters Ancaster event was on March 29. The Rodmasters website (if I understand your post) didn't actually show any info regarding the Spring swap until March 17/18 .... less than TWO WEEKS before the actual event (????). Bottom line ... anyone (which includes me) attempting to verify the event itself and its scheduled date would NOT have gotten any information directly from the website of the car club hosting the spring event if they visited the Rodmaster site BEFORE March 17/18, which I clearly did.
As stated, "it's a shame, as I would have liked to have attended".

pint,
If you had been to the Fall 2014 swap, They gave out flyers for the March 29th swap. I had it pinned up on my cork board since then.
They always hand out flyers for the next event. So far the date on the flyer has never been wrong.

I was there and no doubt got a flyer (most likely it was tossed on the seat while I was wandering around) ... the truth is, I usually just take a gander at them, then toss 'em in the garbage, use them to wipe the dipstick when checking the oil, etc
Don't need to add another opinion but the Rodmaster's always have a meet on the last Sun in Mar and Oct and the Roadrunner's is always the last Sun in Apr. Woodstock is on Apr 12 and 2 meets in Rockton in May.
