Need a safety in ottawa

Wheres a good (and lenient) place in the ottawa area to get a safety? I also need an appraisal as well. The car I bought was on the road when I bought it but probably needs some minor things but I don't want to have to pay to register it unfit and then pay again after I get it safetied. Kind of just want to do it all at once. thanks.

You dont have to pay tax twice when you put it in your name as unfit....Once the tax is paid, you just have to pay for plates once safetied.

Still best to put it your name "UNFIT" & pay tax on appraisal of car in that condition [ less value] than to do it all at once & raise flags with a 'low" ball appraisal & car safety ready to go!!! Looks fishy & could cause problems for your appraiser as well as bringing up a fraud charge on both of you!!!!

I always put a car in my name unfit before I rebuild them. You pay tax on the purchase price+/_.

What car are you talking about that you need a safety for?

If you wait until it is road worthy and worth more you pay the tax on the updated appraisal.

I also get it into my name right away. Pay the tax on the project not the finished product which would be way more. Less problems with questions of how did you get a certified car for this little money. Ed
