th350 puking oil out of the top

I recently fired up the Buick for the season and yesterday I noticed a large oil leak. This morning I put it on the hoist and with the engine off it was puking trans oil from the top

This oil had a lot of air bubbles in it and it kept puking for quite a while.

Can anyone give me some ideas of what I should be looking for?

Sometimes if the car was stored for the winter?? the torque converter will drain it's self back into transmission raising the fluid level & cause a leak while sitting there. Once you fire the engine it will re-fill the T/ convt. Not saying this is your problem but :"might be" Top off the trans. fluid & see if it quits leaking after you run it??

Check to see if there is engine coolant in the trans oil. If you have the cooling lines going into the rad and there is a breech, this can happen. Undo the lines and pressurize the rad to see if any water comes out. If it does then drain the trans and converter, refill, and use a separate stand alone trans cooler. Good luck.

Also make sure that little vent tube on the top of the trans did not get plugged by some furry little critter like a mouse or some of those mud flies it will puke if the vent is plugged..but others said ..warm it up without revving the snot out of it to make sure the converter gets filled form storage ..most of those old 350s would drain back and leak around the dipstick grommet and on start-up and a quick trip around the block would puke out the dipstick tube if you did not let the converter fill, take your time and check level, and for plugged vent..

must have been a 24 hour flu. I topped off the oil and she's fine now.
