the studebaker had a floor mounted cheapo mr gasket pedal which didn't work terribly well. it had the feeling that it wanted to bind and was too close to me as well. i just finished the install of a lokar firewall mounted unit - night and day difference in the feel and action. i used a lokar cable and bracket as well. only thing left to do is make up a pedal stop to keep from over pulling the throttle. i'm very pleased with this lokar stuff.
