Doug; I have friends who come down to the county from up your way and it is usually a three hour drive. If you are towing a race car, I would say to leave by 7 AM to be there by 11. They should start letting cars in then to get them ready for racing at noon. Unfortunately, I am out west and will miss this years event.

I am coming. Will be my first time there as a spectator. I did fire the rail this week just so it knowed I still care for it. I may enter the 63 In the car show and walk if I can over to Beazers booth. If any see me hobbling along I wont refuse a lift.
Don
BTW, After my "adventure" last year I was missing my driving gloves and my arm restraints and associated carbinier. Thursday while rearranging stuff in the trunk of my 63 Dodge I found them all neatly folded together and stashed. Thank you all who were there for me. Someone asked me about a set of 28 by 9 or 10 slicks and said they wanted them.($300) but I haven't heard from them since. I may drag them down if I have the energy. I had tried them at the flatout event a few years back but the car likes the 29.5s much better so they have maybe 6 to 10 runs on them. Still got their little titties as I bought them new and only used them that weekend.

I had a great time as well . So many different classes of cars and trucks running. The Ganaraska Ratlers had 3 cars at the event Fatstax's rat rod ,The Boys big purple Roadmaster wagon and T.J's 57 wagon. Unfortunately my delivery wasn't ready yet. We were also interested in a couple of friends who were running ,a new Hellcat and a quick early square S10. Allinall a great time and some good races. Loved the alterd and the rails, there were vintage drag cars from all of the big three and some from the smaller domestic producers. I saw and had a short chat with Loanmonk and his Stude ,too bad he was having a problem at the time. I saw Studeshaker run, nice quick run and cool car ,I unfortunately didn't get to say high cause whenever he wasn't running he must have been out visiting or watching runs and I would miss him at his ride . Had a good visit and walkaround with Blue Chev and Moondoll , and got to talk with DaveM for a bit . This event has gotten really big so the guys only got a few runs in but this event can't be beat for pure rubber burning, gas guzzling hot rod excess, worth every late night thrash to get ready. Next one is in late June so you gotta be there, I will not miss this one. Ed
It was great meeting you too Doug. I was down at the end in the golf cart waiting for Mike in the Plumbersnightmare (Early hemi rail) when you ran. I tried a photo but the camera messed up again so it is very fuzzy and was video instead of a still.
Wasn't the same without flatbacks 55. It is always there!
I left about 2.30 as I was getting tired. My niece Lori got off work in Picton early (also 2.30) and brought her Front Wheel drive Pontiac up and made several passes in the little white machine. It was her first day ever at the wheel in a drag race and she eventually ran a 15.91 which is not bad, improving on her initial pass by a 1/2 second. She is a mechanic at CTC and has obviously learned a few tuning tricks of her own. So I guess the torch has been passed in this family. She is a tiny gal and the mother of four. Nice to see her interested. I believe someone gave her the car and she repaired it. They will want it back now!

Glad to hear everyone had a good time in The County. Don, great to hear you were up to getting out. I'm sorry I had to miss it, but we won't be back until August so no June event either. I'll have the Bantam in tow, so hopefully everything is ready for next spring. By the way Don, what's happening to the Sr. trailer, it would probably work perfect for the Bantam.
i was very happy with the way the stude performed and especially the killduff shifter i installed. what a great day and nice folks, i'll be back in june.
