Ok, I figured it's about time I started post for my 1959 Edsel Ranger 2 door HT. I guess I'll start from the beginning .
I've always loved Edsel's since I was a kid. The first one I ever saw was in a museum. Anyways, back in march 2013 I found one. total wreck, but for what it was, it is worth fixing up to me. I got the car for $350, and it came with an ownership. Was missing the right fender, Engine and tranny, seats where totally trashed. Also needs a lot of metal work.
Here are the pics I took when I bought the car. (March 2013)
Got My hands on a 1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door sedan parts car. Pulled the Engine and tranny out of it. 332 FE with the cast iron cruise-o-matic. also a bunch of spare parts. This car was pretty well toast otherwise.
Would have cleaned and painted The Engine before putting it in. But only had use of the cherry picker for one day, so had to make due.
Found a horn ring at a swap meet. It's for a 58 Ford, but will work till I find the correct Edsel one.
Found a much better right fender. The other one needed tons of work. This one just needs a heal.
Got new Exhaust Manifolds and good water pump.
Hood needs a bit of work.
Anyways. That pretty much gets you all up to date. I left a lot of the little things out, or i'd be here forever typing it all in.. keep posted for more progress as it comes along.

I went to McLeans auto wreckers this last weekend and found a new drivers side grill, to replace my broken heavy pitted one. Going to keep an eye out for a better hood also. this one is full of dings, and I think its tweaked, as I can't get it to line up with the fender.
Decided to change it into a truck. lol No just kidding. Took the deck lid off to paint it black. going to make the car match and touch up the rest of the black for now.. main focus is getting it on the road this summer. Still have to do rocker panels and some work on the 1/4 panels. a few body mounts, and a few patches on the floor/trunk floor. Got my welder back, so I'll start knocking that stuff out shortly. I also have a new back up lens for it. that one was already badly cracked, I bumped it and the center fell out.
It's been a while since I have been on here.. More updates. It now runs and drives, started rebuilding the left rear 1/4, changed the interior. did the brakes. Front spindles are off a 78 T-Bird to convert to disk. Rear are factory Edsel. Anyways ill post a bunch of pics.
I still need to finish the body work around the wheel arch. But this panel is nearly finished.
Need to do some fine tuning to the rear seat bottom. It's out of a 78 T-Bird. Front seat is obviously the wrong colour, But I'll fix that later. It's from a 56 Ford Customline.
I'll Get new pads and rotors when the time comes. they work for now, to move the car around the yard.
