1954 Ford 2 door post. Florida car that was brought into Canada 5 years ago, and worked over by a retired mechanic out of London, Ont. 61000 original miles ( and it shows ) on the car,..the old Y block removed and replaced with a completely rebuilt, '69 Mustang 289 engine and a rebuilt C-4 Auto. Tranny,...with a rebuilt '96 Ford rear differential, w / highway gears. Approx. 4400. miles on those components now. We went to look at it last Sunday,..and I had an idea, by the way that she was going over that little jewel that it would be coming home with us. I left a depoit,..and the old gent delivered it to her the first of last week. She has been wanting one of these from the time that she sold her '53 Meteor rag-top just after we were married, so now she is happy !!
John,..is that your '55 Meteor in your sig pic ??? That is one gorgeous ride,..and where did you find that ??
Pat was pretty happy to get the car, but I sure hate trying to swing a deal on something like that,...when you can't try lowballng the guy on price,..because you can't find fault with the car in any way, LOL. The old gent who owned it is pretty meticulous in his work,..a place for everything, and everything in it's place, and the car is super clean all around. He told me when he bought it that it had the old Y block engine in it,...plus it had lake pipes, dummy spot lights,..smoothie wheels, etc. on it which he promptly removed once he got it home, ( therefore saving me a lot of work ). He painted the 289 block, valve covers, and old oil bath breather, the factory color's of the Y block engine, and then got factory Y block decals and put them on the breather and valve covers of the 289, LOL,..looks pretty cool. He told me he was selling the car to start on another project,..he delivered the car to us last week, and I gave him a ride back home to London,..and he invited me into his shop to look at his new project,...a 1965 Ford Ranchero,...immaculate, and showroom condition. He said the motor smoked a bit so it was coming out and a new one going in. I couldn't believe the condition that little gem was in. The last of the '65 ranchero's I ever recall seeing years ago, were totally ate away with rust, and beat to death..and then there sits a show piece specimen right in front of my eye's,...unbelievable !! Are you still retired, ??,...I thought I was after this airplane was finished,..but have another one coming in in a couple weeks,..don't think I will ever get fully retired.

Hey, I'll have you know that the Meteor is a 56, and wish it was mine. Still got my 56 Ford Parklane if'n you're looking for a new project.
