what is a good donor for a 12 volt electric pump . my 50 chebby truck this yr the wipers are slowing down a bit . the motor has an ancient old lumpy cam in it , that doesn,t provide too much vac unless on decel . so I was thinking to just go thru the vac motor an put on an electric vac pump to help out . Probably two yrs down the road I,m gonna do the truck over and add a better wiper system then .

But for now would like just a better vacuum source . Any leads ???? .. Thanks ..77.

I'm using the smog air pump off a mid '90's Ford Taurus. It was used it to blow air into the exhaust to reduce emissions. I plumbed lines from both valve covers to a catch can, then from the catch can to the negative side of the pump.

Good for some HP for sure as well as no oil leaks from the crank case being under negative pressure. Pump is mounted to a bracket  in the lower LH corner of the pic:

Hide a reserve vac tank. Even my 55 Nomad had one from the factory for the PB.
