Fire extinguisher where to buy?

I'm wanting to pick up an extinguisher for my truck.  Any suggestions where to buy?  I see the big box stores are selling them but wondering if I should go to a more specialized place?

Also would I be best to get an all purpose A,B & C?

Thoughts on where to mount it?  Do I want it visible or have it under the seat tucked away?

Thanks for any insight.

Mark

Go to a specialize store and spend the $$ on a good ABC -all purpose with a steel collar-nearly all the ones you buy at Home depot etc are way cheaper as they are made cheaper-if it has a plastic collar -over time the seals may leak and when you need it it may not have enough charge.Hopefully you never need it but place it close buy-I had a friend who put it in his trunk and had a small fire-he had to scurry and fumble to get the key in the lock to open his trunk-you have a truck so you should be fine.
Keep on Cruising!

if the smoke starts coming from under your hood.. you have to pull the release,, or find that hood latch.. and then release the safety latch... in that time,, and especially when the hood goes up... the fire will get larger... sometime just for a quick woooof! ...

Here is what I suggest... most local fire depts have a safety day.. call them, ask when it is .. and see if they have extinguisher training / demos .. and if they will offer extinguishers for sale.

they usually have a pro vendor on site during the safety day...  reduced prices.. better quality... and they might let you suit up and squeeeze a trigger so you know a little more of what to expect a fuel, or oil fire flame will do..

and it is best to have that extinguisher within reach of the drivers seat.
