Well, I finally joined. Harry invited me a few years ago but I felt since I didn't even have a car at ALL, it'd be silly. Well, After over 10 years I am mobile again. Not "Rods" but well, I like 'em. cars are my addiction. I do love reading this forum and the old stories and knowing some of the legends, cast and characters myself growing up in the GTA mostly and the Orangeville/Shelburne/Guelph/etc areas also.
I see a few familiar names here, Mark, (2inchestoolow) and Pete from OSR and a few others (Did I see Rick (39Poncho) here?). I've checked in over there once or twice recently but it seems to have died so nice to see this place thrive.
When I get time, I'll say more about the last few years I been out of touch with those here that know me. As for the new screen name, well, the wife and kids are Dr Who fans and as of last March I am a cyborg so it refers to that. I had a rough year last year, got pneumonia (I had heart failure in 2006) and ended up in hospital after a 911 call. Apparently if we hadn't called, I wouldn't be writing this now. TOO close! I got out and when I went to my Dr they had to call 911 again and off I went from the Dr's office to hospital again! Anyways, it was touch and go for a while and was hard on my poor wife as she's my Dr's receptionist and knew how bad things were as she's the one who gets the faxes/etc for him so saw first hand.
And long story short, my heart is now run by a computer (ICD) and still tired but I think I may have made a mistake getting back off oxygen last year. We're off to Markdale hospital tomorrow to figure out why I am so exhausted lately. I been pushing myself pretty hard to be honest, buying the vehicles and we just bought a house and working on that so could just be that. Either way, I don't "fake it" anymore, too old for that crap! So, playing by the rules and getting the Dr to check it out. lol. And well life goes on.
Hey Harry, I may finally drop over and see you now that I can. CHEERS!!

I just ordered a set of Torq Thrusts for the Olds. I have mixed feelings about rims on a four door but have wanted a set of Torq Thrusts for over 30 years and well, although they cost waaaay more than I wanted to spend (Cragars no longer come in the right offset.) I'm an old school kinda' guy and intend to keep this car as long as it lasts! I'll put winter tyres on the old rims. Only downside is 3'4 weeks until they arrive! Ah well..........
I know most people take this stuff for granted but after ten plus years carless due to finances, this truly is a dream come true.
Now to arrange a trip over to see Harry! If he'll have the likes of me. lol.
We just spent 4 days at a place called Irish Lake, my cousin has a cottage there, camping out in the van with our three girls (12, 14 and 15) and had a great week! Yup. I'm quite happy I spent the "new car budget" on some used stuff I actually LIKE!

Just spent 2 nights in Markdale hospital this week. Had to get fluid off my heart drained and am now back on Oxygen at night which I'd sent back in March. Apparently THAT was a mistake!! Feeling MUCH better now though.
Thanks harry. We close on the house on Friday and Aug 6th I have to go to Newmarket for an appointment to check my ICD but hopefully things will slow down a bit and I can get over that way.
I know here this weekend there's a swap meet and car show and a friend told me yesterday they have the dog dish hubcaps I wanted for the Olds but just not up to the walk just yet.
Still have the F1?
