now that I know different proven ways to seal the hedders.......I am wondering what your thoughts are on the new locking type bolts or using studs for hedders?

if the time ever comes you can't see it, you can lay on your back and do it from underneath.
As far as using studs, it would depend on the confines of the engine compartment if you ask me. Some headers really need to be swung, dropped, slid past, finagled in, and studs would just make the installation and removal of those headers, that much worse. I haven't had any issues with regular header bolts, they work fine just as long as you keep them tight.
I read the post regarding your header leakage. One thing to remember is that IF you use header gaskets of some sort, they will need to be tightened as the gasket goes through several heat cycles as it conforms and possibly shrinks, into position. Lock the bolts at installation, and don't retorque them after a couple of drives and I think your gaskets will fail.
Locking bolts are a a good investment. I have a set with serrated pattern on the bottom of the bolt head and a washer that locks into place. Love them and couple guys i know made the switch.
They didnt break the bank on price either. Will try to find the link and post it.
