Help a friend put together a 1969 Mustang using a new Dynacorn body. He installing a 351 Cleveland backed up by a top loader 4 speed. After a small struggle to get the proper bell housing I found he is missing a dowel pin to line it up. He can't seem to find one, so...
Does some one here have a dowel pin for a 1973 Ford Cleveland to manual transmission?
Thanks

Can't you just cut the heads off a couple bolts, cut a slot in the end and screw them in with a screw driver and when it's in just wind them out with a screw driver to put the correct bolts in..I have put many trans / engines together like that..makes it easy to line up when your working alone sometimes..
Dowel pins are sold by diameter and length metric or standard unless you really need a ford one that can't be seen anyway. Drill rod , chrome shafting or the shank of a decent drill bit the right diameter and cut to length will do the same thing
That missing dowel pin is as good an excuse as any to install a flathead instead. Being normal never hurt anyone, your buddy ain't living dangerously enough.

I tried to convince him go with late model engine and suspension but this is what he wanted to do.
National parts depot has them, so he ordered one. Thanks.
